I don't know if it's the same, but on my 84 308 the code is Rosso Corsa FER 300/6

First of all, depending on the year of your car, you are never going to find "old fashioned" paint. Paint has changed a lot since these cars were made. GlasUrit Rosso Corsa Fer 300/9 is one type of red that was used. My advice would be find a red you like and use it. I went with three coats of clear after the paint.

    Gentlemen,

Pardon me for insisting on certain simple things, but:

    1. there was no such thing as "Rosso Corsa" in 1978; that name for the "standard red" came more or less with the passage from Glidden Salchi paints to Glasurit, in 1981.
For a 1978 car that was in the "standard red" of the time, the name of the color is "Rosso Chiaro", which means "light gray", but is actually a tad darker than Rosso Corsa...
But there were others Reds available, remember: Rosso Rubino, etc..."Rosso Chiaro" was the standard red of the time

    2. "Rosso Corsa" evolved with the years, generally speaking (let's try to avoid saying what has already been said in details) becoming slightly more orange whith each change: the shade codified 300/6 came in 1984; the shade coded 300/9 was substitued in the middle of the 328 production run (at the end of 1987); the shade coded 300/12 came in 1991, etc...

    3. All paints used on the 308/328 series were single stage paints, so no clear coat should you intend to stay as close as possible to original,

Beginning in 1980 the bodies where dipped in cataphoretic primer then sprayed either pink or gray primer coat then had 9 top coats of paint applied by hand, the primer robotically applied.

Scusi, Nerofer, piccolo errore: Rosso significa "red" e Grigio significa "gray" ;)
