    hey guys,

So my appointment to design my car is coming up in two weeks (i am SO excited).

I've decided on some shade of blue.

Any suggestions on a non-metallic blue paint?

Right now, i am leaning TDF blue but would hope there is a non-metallic equivalent.

    thanks!

Don't know about "equivalent" because the Blue colors are very different to my eyes, but I'm impressed with the Blue Corsa shown in the 488 official video. I'd still have to actually see the color in person before I'd be comfortable placing an order, and that's probably why I decided to stay with the "safe" Rosso Corsa. (BTW, I thought the TDF is metallic, is that not correct?)

One non-metallic blue that comes to mind, a bit darker than TdF, is Blu Scozia, a navy blue shade. There are so many wonderful blues, both current catalogue and historic. Good luck with your choice! Fred

As mentioned, I have not seen the Corsa Blue in person, but I did not think it was metallic given that it is not listed amongst the metallic paint options in F's build configurator. I am curious, so for anyone owning or seeing this color, please confirm if it is in fact metallic ( it sure looks like that in the pics I've seen, but I was trusting the config).

Interesting link to the colors, thanks for sharing. (I did not see the 488 colors, but perhaps too knew, or i just missed them.)

    Agree, gorgeous color.
Notice the blue stripe down the passenger seat - a perfect match to the outside.
It is my understanding that this color can only be obtained if you spec your car in through the Atelier in Maranello. Other blue stripes I have seen here are not a perfect match.
    Can anyone confirm this?

If i picked a blue, i would pick what Ferrari thought would look nice in the intros/video Blue Corsa . Never saw in person, but the pics/video, for blue, looks awesome...

Have owned a Pozzi FF, now a TdF FF and a Pozzi 355GTB.

Since you'll be at the factory, you should really look at as many blues as you can, on actual cars, and ideally outside.

There are no wrong answers. FWIW Swaters and Blu America are on my list, probably Blu America is next up.

Personally I find the blues look better in metallic, though I love the Pozzi on our 355

Blu Corsa is as metallic as it gets :)

As a rule of thumb, don't trust the configurator much. Colours are off and features and options are not all/always included.

To the OP, non metallic blues are Pozzi in the standard, no extra cost range and Scozia wich is in the historic range with extra cost. From there, you can always go further and choose any other shade from past ranges or even custom.

Pozzi is a very dark blue, looks almost black in low light. Scozia is lighter yet still dark, possibly a better equivalent to TDF. There haven't been any medium or light non-metallic blues recently. Some dig in the past and surface colours like Azzurro Dino of which we've seen a few examples recently.

Looks like you're set on non-metallic, I'm curious as to why?

maybe im just a weirdo, but my two current cars (ultraviolet Gt3 RS and a flat black G63) are all non-metallic. i just like the look better, it looks more sleek in my eyes.

perhaps in person when i see the colours i'll change my mind!

Blu Scozia is def one of my choices.

Thanks Gary. Great to hear. Do you recall a code or the name of this special blue that matches the exterior?

abz, the color is Azzurro Santorini. If you get to NY and go to the store on Park Avenue you can see the sample of the color.

Blu Corsa is available on the configurator. Select "special" under exterior paint options (next to "historic"). It is a metallic paint.

Hi Gary, you are my new hero! You get a F12 in my favorite color and now a 488 in my other favorite color. Congrats! I can't wait to see a picture of both of them together!

Thanks, I did see that, but oddly when I select "Metallic" for the paint category it does not show the BC, that's what threw me off (but it looked Metallic to me in all pics I've seen).

Blu Corsa is one of those colors that I really liked in the press photos but left me 'meh' in real life. Nice color, but it reminded me a bit of the blue you can see on a Mazda CX-5.

Here on a 488 Spider I saw in Montreal few weeks ago.

Ferrari has a lot of nice blue available, TDF being the most famous one.

Darker and metallic would be blu America

Darker and non metallic you have Pozzi:

Lighter than TDF and still metallic is Blue NART

Light than TDF, green/emerald hue and mettalic is Abu Dhabi

I agree, the configurator is a bit misleading. Maybe because Blu Corsa is an extra cost option they don't categorize it with the regular metallics.
