hi colm i like the display colm, you should get the full display up on the site, great collection, colm where do you get porsche from i have not seen it in light blue version joe
Hi Joe, I cant remember where i got it! I came across a box in the attic with it, the McLaren GTR, Merc CLK GTR, Corvette, the Pepsi car and a 1:18 Golf GTI. Plus there was about 7 or 8 1:43 scale Minichamps inc a couple of Jordan F1s . It was a nice surprise to find it. I have never seen the blue version for sale anywhere inc E.Bay so maybe it is rare.
Hi colm. yes it looks like one of the older versions, did you go to last show in clontarf castle, i hope to be at the next one next month, thats if i can find a decent supplier, prices are going up not down,i thought there was a world recession how work with you. joe
Work is very slow but thats life! No point in complaining cos everyone is in the same boat! Wasnt at the last show but will make the next one so will see you there. Bring some nice models with you,i might even have some money to buy one or two.Lol.
I picked up this 1:43 scale model on E.Bay. It is a Ferrari PPG resin kit made by Provence Moulage and built by Mach one models. Does anyone know how rare,if at all, it is and what kind of value one would put on it? Thanks in advance. Colm. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Decided to start my own Gulf collection. Still a few cars to get yet! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am still trying to find some information on this model if anyone can help? Thanks in advance. Colm.
Nice collection. I don't have anywhere near the amount of cars you do, let alone the space. I have 7 1/18 Ferraris 2 1/18 Porsches and 1 1/18 Lamborghini. 8 out of the 10 I consider "high end" (HW Elite, AutoArt, Kyosho). It's nothing like yours but it's a start!! One question: how do you manage the dust and keep the cars clean and shinny? It's annoying trying to dust the detailed areas on some of the cars. Another question: do you buy mainly from eBay or secondhand? Thanks!
Thanks for the comments Guys. As regards the dust I have only 100 approx on show at any one time so keeping them clean is not too hard. I actually enjoy picking them up and dusting them,,,, sad or what? Most of my models have been bought new from shops as I like to see the model in the metal before i buy. I only buy on E.bay when the model is out of stock in the shops. And i only buy what I like, I would never buy for investment purposes. Having said that I have kept all the boxes and plinths just in case!! Lol.
What do you do to dust them? I just use a cloth that was used to clean glasses. I too own all mine for display and enjoyment purposes but I also keep the boxes just in case.
Some new models added to the collection. The Gulf collection is getting bigger but still not complete. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A little help needed. I purchased a book and two models today and the seller did not have much information about them. I was wondering if you could tell me who the signatures are and if the models are genuine and roughly what they are worth? I was told they all came from the Ferrari factory. Thanks in anticipation. Hi doyler, The 1st signature is from Jean Todt, the 3rd from Michael Schumacher, 100 % sure. The 2nd signature is from one of the 3 RB's : Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, or Rubens Barichello. Rubens' is most likely.
That was quick!! Thanks for that. I was told one of them was Ross Brawn, but I was also told the 1st one was Jarno Trulli.......... I think both Brawn and Barichello were with Ferrari in 2001. Again ,thanks for the reply.
hi colm. looks like the signatures are j,trulli,r,brawn, and schumacher. from 2001 f1 season. the cars colm are they 1/18th scale, they could be mr or bbr models. although the cali looks like the elite version by hotwheels. joe
Check this one, it's Todt's! FERRARI 0R 0THER TEAMS. - JEAN TODT AT MARANELLO H.Q : Photo album - sofeminine.co.uk
Cars are 1:43 scale and bonnets, or "trunks" open on both. Both have a c.o.a. and as you can see the spec sheet of the 599 matches the model exactly. The bases of the cases are covered in leather. Any thoughts?
Hi Colm. they sell them in the ferrari gallery shop in marenello, check out there site for the prices, where did you get them from colm. i think there run around 300 euro each.
Wow, 300 each! Before I tell you what I paid for them what do you think the book is worth with the 3 signatures?
Found one of the models on e.bay. They are M.R. collection and it comes with the same cert and box etc. He is asking 270 euros. I got the two models and the book for a 100. I think I did ok! lol.
