I would try swapping the coil pack to another location, then clear the code. When the code comes back, see if it indicates the new location of the coil pack. If that's the case, you hit a home run and just have to buy a coil pack. If the problem doesn't move, try swapping the spark plug to see if the problem code indicates the new location. If the problem doesn't move again.....I'm not sure if there will be an easy fix.

How hard is it to move the coil pack, just unplug it and follow the wires? I reset the code but as soon as I started it the CEL is still on, it seems as if i never erased it but when i replugged the OBD reader it says there are no codes but the light is still on. Does anyone have any pics on how to change the coil pack, much appreciated, really stressed

Be careful NOT TO MOVE ANY WIRES!! Just the coil pack. Remove the jack for the coil on the #3 cylinder. Then unbolt the coil (2 screws). The coil will pull off like a spark plug boot. Move it to a new location. Replace with other coil. It just presses on. Replace the 2 bolts and jack in the connector. You are now done.

I forgot to add the cylinder position info:

The cylinders are aranged in this order
    /\ front
    5 1
    6 2
    7 3
    8 4

I got the above info from the Internet, I can't attest to the accuracy, but I have no reason to think it's incorrect.

Thank u, I will keep u posted, I had a major service done last year so I am not sure if the coil packs and plugs were changed, so before I start messing around I am going to go back to work on tues and check my records and see if they r under warranty. Hopefully I can b patient and wait till tues but I'm not a very patient person lol

    Interesting. On the F430 it is;
    /\front
    8 1
    7 2
    6 3
    5 4

I did not expect Ferrari to change their ordering convention, but not surprised either.

If the diagnostic approach described above does not eliminate the problem, another common cause for misfires is failed gaskets on the intake manifold to cylinder head connection point. I experienced that problem.

Good call, if swapping coils didn't work, I was going to suggest the possibility of the intake manifold gaskets leaking. By the way, out of curiosity, how much does replacing the gaskets cost at a dealership (approx.)?

+1; will add that upon close visual inspection of the assembled intake, sometimes you can visually see or audibly hear the gasket leak. Visually it looks like dark residue sometimes oily, sometimes dry, in a pattern as if sprayed out from the base of the intake runner at the foot of the block. I wish I had a pic handy. Inspecting is hard but is done from
    the top of the engine.

Thank u guys and it was the coil pack and they said the plugs were gettin a little rusty so I am getting the pack changed and new plugs. They told me there is a cover made to go under the vents(the vents besides the glass showing the engine)so no water will reach the engine through the back, it will be routed to go around engine, that is actually a recall for the 430's but not for the 360's, doesn't make sense but the part is cheap and makes a lot of sense. Thanks again and just wanna say this site is just awesome and all u guys are great, atleast I'm not in the dark guessing what it could have been.
