    Hi the cheap mondial is still cheap but the clicked alar keeps arming itself whilst driving resulting in the alarm going of when I exit the car. Anyone had similar problems? An advise?

    The best advice I've seen, on numerous occasions, is to completely remove the alarm system. Classic Ferraris can have enough electrical issues of their own...

    However, if you want a time-warp machine then having it installed and working would certainly be a conversation starter.

    The clifford alarm is more than likely loosing power or ground (ck fuse holder at the battery) and the connector at the alarm brain (usuall under the pass floor panel or under the drivers dash) I would have to say that as I have been dealing with alarms since the begining I dont see too many vintage cliffords still working and your best bet would be to have it removed as Wade said.

    I have an old Clifford in my '85 QV, that I would like gone. Is it a wiring nightmare best left to a shop, or might there be a guide somewhere to all of the insidious little wiring tie-ins?

    From what I've seen during the car alarm heyday of the 80's - 90's installers were mostly young guys working at car stereo shops or big stores like Sears, Circuit City, etc. The requirement was to sell/install as many aftermarket devices in as little time as possible. Access to each vehicles' wiring diagrams was mostly non-existent (remember, this was pre-internet) so the end result was "connect to whatever wire works".

    Hope yours is/was different...
