So it's no secret when I get my F12 I am almost immediately going to put an exhaust on it. Out of the plethora of videos I've been watching, I've found full iPE to be the one I am gravitating to.

I am just curious on everyone else's experience with loud aftermarket exhausts (not custom straight pipes cause obv those would be loud).

And, of course, if you have a full iPE setup, how do you like it? I come from the jdm world, and the look of the RYFT exhaust also really really intrigues me and from my understanding is quite loud as well. So I'd love to hear people's experience with that one as well. Thanks in advance

That looks spectacular without a car or its under trays - so what's the point? Only the noise is important right? The options seem to be quite complex:
    1) Valves
    2) Valves + rear boxes
    3) Rear boxes + x pipes
    4) Valves - rear boxes + x pipes
    5) Sports cats
    6) Sports cats + x pipes
    7) Sports cats + rear boxes
    8) Sports cats + valves etc etc etc

I could go on with all the options all the way through to straight piped - but you get the point.

Then overlay the actually manufacturer (of each component) - madness to try work out.

I think the most common chosen options are:
    a) Valves - rear boxes - x pipe (louder than stock)
    b) Valves - rear boxes - x pipe - sports cats (very loud vs stock)

I have option a) with Capristo and am very happy with the sound. I doubt if you will ever find a way to compare all the options. Suggest finding a few modified cars near you, listening to them and then choosing what you like.

Or just go with the really pretty one that no one (even you) will ever probably see?

I'll have it installed in two weeks but I have sitting at my house waiting for install.

    Ryft race pipe (catless)
    Capristo X-Pipe
    Stock muffler
    Capristo valve controller

Bought the piping used and the controller new. Better than spending $10k on a system thanks to Ferrari tax on these items.

Currently I'm stock with the valves capped open. It's "not bad" that way but yeah I bought this car because of that motor. Might as well open her up and make her sing! Already tuned the car to delete the check engine light.

Oh believe me I totally get the whole "doesn't matter what it looks like it'll be hidden under the car" thing lol just something about blue and purple burnt metal with sexy welds. Anyway, thanks for the layout! I am most definitely going to go with one manufacturer to keep things simple. As I am seeing the 4 exhaust components to modify are 1. + valve controller 2. boxes 3. cats 4. x-pipe?

If you want loud, don’t bother with X-pipes. They are a marginal change to the tone on the V12 engines (unlike the V8s where they make a huge difference). Loud = sports cats or catless.

If you’re looking at IPE, I think a lot of their videos are catless.

    You should also consider Kline.

Interesting never heard this sentiment before! Yeah def a biggie for tone when it comes to V8s.

I did not modify my F12 other than pin the valves open. I did put in a Brooke Racing Exhaust system in my 812 SF and couldn’t be happier. X pipe and boxes. (Capristo remote) Didn’t do anything with the cats. The best thing about the Brooke system is that it is inconel. Quality is impeccable- Ferrari dealer installed mine and was absolutely impressed as being as good if not better than some of the other better known/popular aftermarket ones out there and for half the price. Good luck!

Frank did the BRE mainly change the sound quality (and not loudness) by skipping the sport cats? I was thinking of doing a BRE total system on my car

Oh I've heard of BRE and know they are quality! Never thought of looking into them for the f12

Sound clips in general for any car aren't going to do them justice. Most sound the same online. Need to hear them in person. I can tell you in my 20 years of playing around in the performance car game I found that every car from the factory will benefit from an exhaust. Now, how far you want to go with it, that's up to you. Personally, I bought an F12 mostly because I wanted to check that V12 box. I figured it's not a daily, YOLO, and since I bought for the motor we're going full send and deleting the cats. o_O

Yeah. it's a bit louder. But watch out you- may just get what you want. Just loud enough. I have muffler deletes and a Dundon Crack Pipe in my dot1 RS and while it puts a smile on your face, after a few minutes its lost its appeal. I bought AirPods for the noise cancellation on track.

What I like most about the BRE is the deeper growl in the more usable and more commonly used lower rev range.

There is a point of diminishing returns. What gets often overlooked from many, especially newbies is that what Ferrari does best is engines of course and in the V12s intake.

The best part of driving the F12/812 in the higher rev range is not what you hear coming out the rear, the best is actually the organ-like harmonics from the intake. It is angelic.

One with the valves closed then open.

I have gutted stock downpipes , Kline X pipe, and factory box w/ Mase tune. Surprisingly, I expected it to be louder but it's just right ....for now. :D . I may install the Kline box later.
I have Forza valve controllers installed as well.

Sorry just caught this - yes, it's pretty loud compared to stock (which is moderately loud). Notably higher pitch too. The X-pipe does blend some of the harmonic sounds into one louder, sharper tone. Just from the phone video:

Wow thanks for sharing it sounds great! Much of what I am aiming for as far as sound. Do you have any criticisms towards the ryft system?

Also beautiful wrap! Would love to see more pics of it if you don't mind sharing
