Considering putting clear UV window film on my windshield in my 328. Any recommendations in the San Fernando or San Gabriel Valleys for a meticulous shop that does great work and will also be extremely careful with my car? Thanks!

Rhino Films and Detsil. in Huntington Beach. Worth the drive. Make sure you get heat rejecting (IR) and not just UV. They are very very meticulous. They have done 9 of my cars including the yellow 488. Ask for Alex or Luis.

No recommendations other than make sure whatever film you plan to apply isn’t like all black-out/darkening tint films people have on the front side windows of their cars, illegal*.
Retailer/installer may have a small print disclaimer/-closure/ROL on their sales/service agreement contract, but if not, you may wish to ask about this or consult your insurance carrier.
I know individuals who have received tickets and/or had their insurance claims denied after an accident/collision due to illegally dark tinting.

    * Ever wonder why new cars don’t usually come with or have add-on tinting films on their front side windows at the dealership ?

If you read the original post this is for CLEAR film not tint. It’s to block UV/Infrared only and very little visible light.

I did read it, but adding PLASTIC film on to a glass/windshield, even without tinting, may cause visual distortions.
Besides, how much (if any) actual proof, besides fancy marketing claims, is there about UV/IR blockage provided by these CLEAR films ?
    OTOH, your car, your money.

Addressing the windshield question, are you aware that most car windshields block nearly all UV without adding aftermarket films?

This is it cut down on the heat ingress from the sun on the very low angled/long windshield in my 328. I know there are 308/328 owners that have done this and they have said it helps. Can we get back to the question which is for a recommended shop in the San Fernando/San Gabriel Valley areas? Thanks!

But no IR rejection, this is the important dash heat damage ray

on inside of windshield we use Hüper Optik 15 , which is a ceramic film with 85% clear transmisibility but 100% IR and UV rejection.
Easy install, use outside of windshield as pattern, cut and slip water in place.

have also used clear body film ppf on outside of window for rock chips and works great with some small unclear waves. Not perfect but very good protection
