Purchased car with clear bra. What are the do's a dont's about maintaining it?
I talked to xpel a while back as I was in same situation as you, and wanted to keep it very nice for my street car. xpel sells a good sealer protectant; good to do periodically to keep hydrated, and designed for the product. The Griots car washes are safe. I use their waterless car wash to clean off any bugs between washes. Conversely, I have a race car with clear bra, that I've never babied. It's only seen the waterless car wash and, the best tire mark remover has been 3m adhesive remover. I clean that, then go over the car with the waterless after a race weekend. The only thing that I've ever caused damage with was expel's stain remover spray. It works great, but it has to be washed off quickly or it will haze the film. Luckily, I was needing to do some paint work anyway, but it looks awful. Beware. Ammo NYC has a good video on care, too.
LOL You treat it as if its a more sensitive clear coat. So don't rub it too hard. Its easier to scratch than the clear coat. It also will hold dirt and grime more. You can wax it but be extra gentle. Congratulations on your purchase!!
and always remember.... The film is not meant to stay on the car forever. Don't be afraid if you need to replace it....
That be it !! I purchased mine at Boat U.S. Let me know how you like it. Sometimes it needs to be applied a few times , also it gives the clear bra a nice sheen.
