Finally put the 345 width Michelin Super Sports on my Hamann 19 x 13 rear wheels this weekend and it was no issue at all fitting the 345s rather than the original 355 PZeros as recommended by Hamann but which are no longer made.

The 345s don't look at all "stretched" and I doubt I'll ever drive hard enough on the street to notice any appreciable difference in handling characteristics. But I'm certain I'll no longer be spinning the rears even under modest acceleration now that the rock hard, 8 year old Pzeros are off the wheel. Thanks to everyone who helped me make that decision on tire sizes!

Turns out however that the Hamann rims use the smaller valve hole (0.453" vs the typical 0.625") for which the tire shop didn't have the correct valve stem in stock. The tire shop fitted a temporary solution (a clamp-in one that is a bit too short - ok for getting it home but I'm not driving hard with it!).

Easy fix - just order the 0.453" valve, but which one? A Clamp-in or Snap-in? Does it matter? I didn't even realize there were two sizes of valve apertures.

Using short 045 is fine. Clamp ins are metal. Metal is good because stronger. I use them for racing because nothing sucks more than losing valve stem. Some snap in have metal cores. You will find those on higher PSI applications like 3/4 ton pickup trucks. Most snap in are cheap all rubber. They all work.

I have hammans with 13" wide wheels on the back. It transformed my handling. Hope you find the same. Cant wait to hear the sound with the resonator deletes and tubi exhausts in the spring. We still have several feet of snow on the ground.

Let us know what you think. I had straight pipes (resonator delete) with gen 1 Tubis for a few weeks and found it fantastic, but swapped to a xpipe because it was just too obnoxiously loud. Was starting to get some really nasty looks from my neighbors living in the ground floor apartments. The gen 2 Tubis are supposed to be much better with the straight pipes.

The new Michelins have really improved the ride and handling. Compliant (sort of) over bumps in the road, and no more spinning in 3rd gear on my commute home.

The holes for the valves can always be reamed to the larger size so Huf-Beru OEM style valves will fit.

Those Hamann PGIIIs are good looking wheels. 9x19 and 13x19 on this Maranello. No longer in production, last I heard.

Looks great and Giallo is my favorite Ferrari color. It should look like a muscle car with 13.6" wide rear tires. The ones on my NF2s are 14" wide (355/25) and the Mustangs usually leave me alone.

Bumping ancient thread. What are people running Hamann using now a days?

I realized I need to order valve stems and Hamann is NLA; personally would rather not use the rubber snap-ins.

Use any metal clamp in valve likely 0.453" there are only 2 popular sizes. Come metal and chrome metal and different lengths for cosmetics and access in different rims

In the past, my friend (a tire dealer) said, that it's not allowed to mount snap in valves (mostly rubber) on a fast car, max speed more than XXX Km/h (i don't remeber the speed). There you have to use screwed valves.

Since about 10 years, i have a set Hammans 2 piece 19" too.
At the rear the wider 13".
But i have never mounted them.

Seems that i'm a wheel junky.
    ;)

For the 550 i have to the mounted original rims
1 set original BBS rims brand new
1 set Hamman 19 inch in good condition

    For the 599
    1 set original GTO wheels

    For the 812
    the original twisted 812 wheels
3 sets of original Monza SP Wheels, 1 on the car, the other 2 brand new
