    Hi

Sorry to ask a question if it has already been answered. I have 1977 308GTB with the small cigarette lighter.

Does anyone have a solution to charging Phones and Sat Navs ?

    Thanks

You can find an adapter to use the emergency light plug as a power source.

I replaced the socket with a standard size one and put the Ferrari one in a box to save.

I 'borrowed' the trouble light male end and made an female end adaptor to accept a standard lighter plug, and use cigarette lighter to USB to power my nav / iPhone. That way I can use the trouble light outlet under the dash and out of the way for my nav / iPhone and still have the regular cigarette lighter socket available. It works great for me; specially since I need the nav or iPhone as a speedometer until I get the speedo fixed

I believe the lighter socket in the Ferrari is the smaller "Hella" style and there are a number of adapters available for next to nothing on either eBay or Amazon that should fit.

There is a simple plastic adapter (european to NA) for the cigarette lighter for a snugger fit, but the under-dash trouble light outlet is completely different. Not sure where you can get a male end to fit it. The fitting on my trouble light has screw-on connections, so I borrowed that, and can easily return to original. LED flash lights are so much better than that trouble light anyway......

    Listers,

If you need a male end to fit the emergency socket under the dash BMW motorcycle dealers have them. Circa $15.

Thanks! Worried about not being able to put the trouble light back together I was rather limited with the plug's use. Now I can be a little more adventurous ;-)

I use the trouble light (Powerlet) connection under the dash as well as the cigarette lighter. Adapters for each are commonly available from many sources such as Amazon. For my maintenance charger, GPS, etc., I use a Powerlet to female cigarette lighter (top of pic):
    Amazon.com: BikeMaster 12V - 15A Male Plug Cigarette Lighter TC-6662GA: Automotive

Then a male cigarette lighter to the battery charger fitting (bottom of pic - each under $10). I feed this through my drivers slightly open window and if I forget to disconnect the male and female cigarette fittings easily disengage W/O incident.

For Powerlet to USB adapters: Amazon.com: (Brand New) Cliff-Top® 3.3 Amp Locking Tight BMW Motorcycle DIN (Hella) to USB Adaptor (Angled): Computers & Accessories

I also plug in the Deltran USB charger ($10)
Amazon.com: Battery Tender 081-0158 Black Quick Disconnect Plug with USB Charger: Automotive
And the Deltran volt meter for real time voltage ($20)
Amazon.com: Battery Tender 081-0157 Black Quick Disconnect Plug with LCD Voltage Display: Automotive
These low cost adapters give versatility W/O messing with your trouble light.
