I'm going to embark on a small winter project and connect up my choke cable properly. Unfortunately it looks like it's missing some sort of bracket that connects the cable to the carbs, and I can't find a table in the parts book that shows how the cable's connected. Does anyone have a photo of that area they can send me so I can at least figure out what parts I need to chase down?

Hello Mark, I think the choke cable must be attached in the top 3 "golden" pivots in the top of the carburetors. Regards, Alvaro

Thanks for the photos! I have a tipo E, not an L, but I'm thinking that bracket that's mounted to the cam end is what I'm missing. I can't find it in the parts book copy that I have, which is annoying. If anyone has a part number, let me know.

In addition to the bracket on the motor, it looks like there's an extension to the choke lever, where the end of the cable is fastened with some sort of trunnion. That also doesn't appear in the tav 9 carb diagram, nor anywhere else as far as I can tell. Do you have a closer photo of that?

Thanks so much for the detailed photos. Is the lever to which the cable attaches all one part and therefore different from the levers on the other 2 carbs? Or are there actually two parts that are somehow connected at their bases through the shaft on the choke gear? Looks from the photo like it's all one part, but my parts book doesn't show such a part. This is proving to be an interesting treasure hunt.

you was extremely lucky Iain, it was the last one in my treasure store :)

I didn't connect my choke cable as its never needed or can easily be knocked on.
