Chipped windshield can it be fixed?

I have a very small rock chip in the lowe part of my windshield.....I heard there is a filler of some kind that you can fill the slight chip with so the windshield will not start to radially crack from the chip.....any recomendations on this? I heard about this fix from my Lexus dealer last time I had a windshiled replaced.....new windshiled is only a few months old.....now another chip from some rock that hit it a week ago while I was driving.....recomendations welcomed on various fixes people may have used.
