    Drum! I built two, since given them to friends. Drums are gateway smokers . I loved mine, made some great q, should even be some pictures of them around here somewhere.

    Minion method works well, I keep it indirect. Need to play with it to make it work for you. I never cook at 225, too slow and not enough bark. Ymmv. 275 to 285 in my stumps.

    I know the weber grills get a lot or recommendations and I would agree as far as grilling, but we plan on doing all the cooking outside. This include grilling, boiling water for corn, etc, frying fish, bacon and eggs and I don't know if the weber style grills will do all of that.
