Upon researching the various heat ranges from NGK, it seems like CHampion has a much more versitile and incrimental line. For every one heat range that NGK has, Champion has another two between that. For example:

NGK BP6ES is equivalent to Champion's N8YC N9YC N10YC, and then N11YC goes into NGK's BP5ES. That is two more incremental heat ranges that Champion offers. So for the person who wants something a little hotter than a BP6ES, but not as hot as a BP5ES, one would think the natural step would be to a Champion N10YC. It seems to me that NGK has broad heat ranges, and for the person really trying to 'dial-in' their motor, on paper anyway, Champion would be the way to go. has anyone had good luck with Champion plugs, or do they just foul too much?

NGK BPR7EIX (Iridium) works great in the V-6 Dino. The fine wire is foul-resistant. The heat range is good. Longevity is a plus, too. A tad expensive at under 8-bucks a pop, but worth the money.
John Corbani has posted beauoup about the various plugs he's tried in his 191,000-mile(!) 246 GT. See his many informative articles in the 206/246 section.

On the NGK i think the higher the# the hotter it is, the #7 is a tad hot but hey as long as you are not running wide open for long peroids of time,I use the BPR6EIS and yes it absolutley blows any Champion or Bosch off the map. I have these in my 1975 308 GT4 , Once they were in there for almost a year without changing, If i were using any other plug, they would not last more than 2 weeks,,and thats because the moment i lose that perfect sound, the crisp crackling that only a Ferrari gives, i have to get it back. Hence that old saying'' nothing runs like a Ferrari with new plugs '' They didn`t have the iridium plugs back then, $ 8.50 each but easily worth 2X as much

You are incorrect. Lower number equals hotter plug with the NGK line.

I wouldn't get to wrapped around the axle over "dialing in" your spark plug requirements...either NGK 7, 6 or5's will suffice. The experts (like Brian Crall, Dave Helms, Tony Pallidino) and many other Ferrari master techs have said time and again that NGK is the only way to go.
