I've been watching for a few months now. Seems like not many 458s are selling. I make the assumption that this is due to the economy and that most people who can afford a 458 at these numbers currently own one and are waiting for a 488.

So, if some or any of that is true, when are the sellers of 458s going to get realistic on their prices and actually SELL the cars?

I cannot believe that anyone would consider paying over 275k for a spider, regardless of miles/options/year. Why do that when you can get a new 488.

I personally feel that the market should be about 250k tops for any 458, then obviously go down from there.

Anyone care to chime in with thoughts or opinions? I'm not bashing the 458 at all.. it is a great car and frankly I want another. I just am not willing to pay the prices that these dealers and individual sellers seem to think the cars are worth.

    TIA

It's only worth what someone will pay. People are free to ask whatever they want and the 458's are selling. I did a quick search for 2014 coupes and there were only like 15 in the entire US. So all depends on year, miles, etc, etc.

With it being last NA f-car, I would not be so quick to dismiss it. Also, many may want 488, but it's at a different price level (and the wait is not friendly). You say $275 is tops on Spider, but 488 topless will be probably $350++ optioned. That's a big swing and compelling for many to go 458.

I just bought one (2014) at a great deal with low miles. The alternatives are few that tick the box for me. Had Huracan was good car, but was $40k more and didn't have that connection to it. Mac, well we know the depreciation factor of that and no NA which is non-starter for me.

I think 458's are doing fine, at least the low miles (sub 5k) and great condition cars.

    Good luck on your hunt.

I sold my 2014 Italia with 5000k miles in August for 265 and my 488 is coming in at 275.

I couldnt agree more. I think 2011s should be 170-185 range and people are holding firm at 200+ I suspect by summer we will see a decline as holding these cars is only going to cause these prices to go down.

I am in the hunt for a 2011 low miles for 170-180k. I dont mind waiting. Getting the car now vs end of the year is no biggy for me.

Post a spec sheet of your options and costs on 488--$275 seems low (not that it's a bad thing).

Did you get your assembly line pic yet?

Haha. I was saying 458 prices will fall to 180s in Ferrari dealers during late summer early fall when I started looking during the winter and it never happened. I wound up buying one at market prices during the fall and haven't looked back since. This was during the "correction" we had during the fall. Good luck on your search, sometimes it's just best to buy the car and enjoy.

Hmmm I have been watching for at least 2 months now.
But dealers and private owners are holding tight.
I found a nice car in ny .
And the dealer told me its on consignment....its a authorized Ferrari dealer.
170/ 180 for 2010 /2011 would be great , but iam not seeing it just yet .

Agree. Pricing is actually holding firm on desirable ones (especially for winter). Yes there are the occasional deals (or you can go to Switzerland and get one), but other than that you can keep waiting, or find one that sings to you and go enjoy it.

We are looking also. 2011 Italias are 200-220 asking price for most. We will be buying in the next 6-8 weeks.

10000 will not stop us from getting the car we want.

Don't wait too long , life might just pass you by. I would rather have the car now for the 10-20 k more if it was the right car , colors and options. I wouldn't approach it penny wise ....

Made a offer on 2011 458 nicely optioned...the seller said 214k or nothin.
Lambo of Houston has a car for 189 yesterday .....today there website says pending.
So as others have said 170 to 180 is the trigger point.

All depends on miles, condition, options. Can't just say all 2011's.

No that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is a car with desirable options is worth more than one without any. Just like a 4k mile car is worth more than a 10k mile car. Just like a not so cared for one is worth less than a mint cherry one. And various combos of each add up.

People can ask whatever they want. No law against that.

    That's what I'm saying.

Yes prices will be lower from non Ferrari dealerships as their cars may not have had recent service or Ferrari approved. Also I would guess the car for 189 is not red or white or yellow. Those tend to be priced higher.

    I have a loaded 2013 458 Spider ($315K MSRP) that I paid $325,000 for 3/2014. I put 12,000 miles on it in just under 2 years. I'm thinking $250,000 is fair but we'll see.

Remember , no free lunch with these cars . The higher price may also reflect an extended warranty , colors and options. Most people purchasing want certain options. I personally wouldn't buy a car unless it was loaded up with options and a warranty which means I will pay more . Why spend 180 k and settle for a lower optioned car when 200 k will buy me the "right " car. Just my 2 cents.

I don't entirely disagree. There are enough to be fairly picky. Which of course also indicates they will continue to act like normal depreciating cars.

This one looked nice for someone who wanted silver and was aggressively priced. And still sat for a while. It's a funny market.

458's price and value are extraordinarily good. The car is already iconic and will be one of the greats. There are many people on here that have theories about what prices are doing or what they will do but I've not seen once anyone with any data, which makes everyone's statements about price just an opinion.

I recently bought a mint 2015 458 Rosso corsa red coupe/tan leather interior. Not exceptionally loaded with options but who gives a ****...it's the car and the engine I care about. I paid $262 and the car has only 500miles. To me, this was a great deal because it's the value I get from it, not the price I paid. I've seen other super cars for this price and higher that I don't see as much value from. and Lambo's to me look gaudy as hell.

488 may be a good car but I personally don't find it as attractive as the 458 with the air intakes on the side. But, that's just me.
