I think the difficulty is not that they are "wedded to the oil companies", rather that they need light weight. As safety standards demand more and more weight, and efficiency standards demand more and more fuel mileage, you will see more and more plastic.

It could be the same car from 93, just more reliable, and I'd buy it.

Well reports are saying 4" increased wheelbase for the 998... to increase back seat room.

    Awesome news for my lifestyle!

Modern version of a 4 door drop top Cadillac. DTS perhaps or new, bigger model.

agreed. I saw a 60's Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible last night, what an elegant car. maybe the perfect car for cruising the sunset strip :)

this most likely to accommodate a possible flat 8 cylinder moved forward. that's a nasty but could be true rumor for the 997 replacement. this would also mean the end to a back seat.

I'd like to get Land Rover to bring their new Defenders here again. I'd love to replace my 95' D90 with a 2011 version.

That Miura (what appears to be concept) is smoking hot a page or two back as well.

Beautiful car! It does bare a bit of a resemblance to the Saturn Sky though, look at the windshield and door lines.
