Also, a Lotus with the flappy paddles. I would probably prefer the manual, but some people that track their cars might like the F1, would also give variety.
Cadillac Cien Maserati Birdcage 75th Volkswagen W12 Realistically...if they made an E39 M5 Touring (wagon), I'd be all over that today. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/132836-bmw-m5-e39-touring-usa-here.html
I assume you mean 458... (since there are 6 speed 456's, the 456GT/456M GT) And they're making a v12 458 for Eric Clapton.
Off topic maybe, but I wish that manufacturers would stop filling every part of their cars with plastic. I know they are in the service of the oil beasts, so finding any way to cut costs and sell more of that toxic crap is in line with their overall motive, but every time I enter a modern vehicle all I can smell and feel is plastic, and it makes me sick. Lining the hot engine bays with that stuff can't be healthy, neither sitting in and breathing it after its been stewing in the sun for hours. Oh well bring on the next range of stupid, grinning, chromed cartoon faces, stamped onto extruded poison. Keep making them more difficult to drive smoothly, too. It really bothers me to have to exert any effort to push a pedal or turn a wheel, so keep boosting the assists, I don't need to feel the road or the cars motion anyway. I may need to operate a machine, but to hell with anyone else who appreciates the feeling of doing so, I want zero-effort zero-control zero-reward controls! On a lighter note, a rotary powered Atom/Elise/MR2 sort of thing would be fun. Ferrari should look into rotaries. I wish BMW would keep building the e39 m5, but with the v10 of the subsequent model, and a manual. The newer ones are stupid looking, too bulky, no sense of restraint or proportion. A 240z made of modern materials, with modern techniques would be great. Just don't make it bigger-heavier-flashier-comfier-etc. Actually, what I want is for them to stop making bad cars. Just return to the ones that worked, abandon most of everything made in the last 50 years and keep the classics. Separate the wheat from the chaff, kill off multitudes of kidsmeal-toy cookie cutter cars. Noone really wants to drive home in their new kia failura, or their SUV-sized cartoon "retro sports car." Once everyone is driving around in modernized BMW 507s, they can all admit it.
Here are a couple of things I'd like to see. Small size affordable car with RWD. I'm not talking some super high performance car, just a great every day car with RWD dynamics. A Ford F-150 supercab truck with an 8' bed and manual transmission. They could even throw in a 4L diesel engine. Simplified electronics with fewer computers (that is one thing I really like about my 365).
Forgot to add- a diesel SUV, like Suburban or Expedition, so I can haul stuff and pull a trailer with ease and relatively good gas mileage.
I've heard rumors there is one in the works... As well as a V8 car. That's just a step below the Gallardo.
Very unrealistic, but...a new Ford Bronco! I think the truck-like utility in a smaller package would be awesome! Think somewhere in-between a Jeep Wrangler and a Chevy Avalanche. -Removable hard top -Fold-flat rear seats -Raptor-like suspension (stock) -6.2L Gas V8, and and optional small turbo-diesel for those interested in MPGs -Selectable four-wheel steering (for maneuverability in the growing urban/suburban areas) This would be a great vehicle if they could pull it off right. They would need to market it to the young and active market. I would personally buy a couple for beach/farm/off-road use. With the vast improvement in Ford build quality and interior execution, I really think they could build a real winner.
A two seat retro styled mid engine convertible with enough room for two golf bags in the trunk...Performance should focus on superior handling..not top end speed, should have enough torque to pin you to your seat upon acceleration...1gplus on skid pad...70 plus mph on the slaloom...and cost under 50K. When I retro styled think 50s curves...not this angled geometric stuff we see now...
