WTF..... The first time I have went there. I didn't count um but, it seemed like there was 40 cars. I thought there was big names behind it? .... no?

    How was Aliso Viejo today?

The Fairgrounds SUCKS! Great because of no residential but, crap no flavor....

Seems like a BETTER venue is needed. How about down in HB by the BEACH cold or not.... who cares. There are 1500 parking spots... SO you pay a few bucks to park there...who cares...It is freaking SoCal!!! City of Huntington Beach, California - Annual Beach Parking Pass I will hire girls in bikinis to come keep you warm! Beach Beach Beach! Ahhhhhhh those were the days? Anyone remember when I did this?

Who wants to have fun again!??

I'm cool on HB make it a 8-12 show this way we can patronize the local flavor. 6-9 is just nuts for us BEach Bums, heck half of us are just falling asleep at 5 am

Aliso has a pretty good following. Usually busy and interesting cars show up. Nothing like Irvine, but still very good.
The Fairground venue (I have not attended that one) was a later proclaimed CNC replacement with some big name sponsors behind it, but you are not the first to ask "WTF, where's the beef?" and "where are all the cars?"

If you are interested in a venue down by the BEACH again... post up here and I will do the legwork to make it/do the "research" (lobbying) to a make it happen with a couple other friends of mine. Send this to other car clubs... thanks. A car show in SoCal shouldn't be in a residential strip mall (that will eventually get closed down) or in a barren parking lot.

I agree. HB would be a great venue. You could hit Donut Derelicts to check out some classics and then hit the beach for exotics and everything else. I'm with you Newport.

And nobody give me the stupid salt air excuse... LOL... heard that one before. The F40's didn't seem to mind....

AND I don't think the Hyatt would mind if they sold more rooms and, about 400 overpriced cups of coffee on a Saturday am...

I'm in for 2 overpriced brunches if they have it also

A boring parking lot? SoCal has so much more to offer. This is not Poofters Froth, Wyoming

I went to the first OC C&C gathering and I didn't like the location. I do not want to mix it up with the swap meet crowd. I support the Aliso Viejo location. It has plenty of parking and easy access. it could use more Fcar support but it has a good mix and doesn't have all of the participation rules which get more crowds. Yesterday was a great crowd and their seemed to be a large turnout of Porsches. I'm all for a closer Location but I don't think it will last as the locals will complain and come up with some reason to shut it down as they did in San Clemente.

Agree. Aliso is doing well, and as long as we don't get the a-holes doing burnouts, etc., hopefully will last a while. Plenty of parking, easy in and out access. Very mellow crowd.

Also in agreement. A very low key and welcoming environment with easy to access parking and a couple of good coffee/food choices. There have been a number of world class collector cars in attendance as well as a nice selection of everyday classics. I don't go to Cars & Coffee for beach, bimbos or to hang out at a cool location all day-I'm there to see the cars and friends for an hour or two before getting on with the day. Aliso meets those requirements and will continue to do so as long as the idiot fringe is kept in check.

Its too close to the vendors, they should put it way off in an empty area and let it grow.

Also, place to do burn outs after say 10 am would be awesome, probably could sell tickets.

Spot on. Also, for people that say make it later, this only adds to the probability of numb nutz showing up late, screeching in and screeching out. The one thing I have observed, all the way back to Crystal Cove, has been that the idiots that ruin it, are not only dumb, they're lazy. Keep it from Dawn to + 2 hours, and you'll see the vast majority of those coming out are legitimate car enthusiasts.

Thanks for just confirming my point: "after 10 am" and "burn outs" all in one sentence.

Guys that constantly blip the throttle to show off their aftermarket exhausts also boggle the mind. If they only knew what some, (most) of us are saying as we watch them leave......

There's a local Cop that has stopped by the last several times I've been. He's a car enthusiast from what I here and his presence has been greatly appreciated by all that want the burnout and high engine revving and to stop.

C&C Aliso Viejo on Saturday. Get there early to best cars 7:00ish. Access is so easy that people tend to come in early and depart starting around 8:30.....

Or Sunday at Sunset Beach. You can get there a little later and see some nice cars. Smaller turnout though but a great group of people.

lots of people looking to hear the cars open up, on the streets its not legal, the fair grounds could be set up with a safe place to leave the venue legally and hit redline at least in one gear. And then slow again to leave the property.

it would be super popular and draw large crowds that could be forced back thru the swap meet to get to their regular cars similar to how disneyland does it. (yes, it would be partially about the money, and perhaps an entry fee could pay for insurance, etc.)

Its privately managed publicly owned property with lots of room, it would be cool, and safe.

They run flat track motor cycles with no pipes on the very same property so noise would not be an issue.

    Fairgrounds may not last.........

Recently, a drunk ran his Hellcat into a classic 63 or so Chevy,
was arrested for dui and supposedly was going over 60 mph.

Heard this second hand, so may not be accurate, but if so,
    only a matter of time.

Too bad the fairgrounds operators didn't take control of it and give the residents what they wanted

Full throttle in a safe controlled location
