Welcome to Michael's and my madding world of herding cats at car events. As you know Cars and Coffee and our 900+ potential ways to get booted every week has provide us the opportunity to move again. It is hard to find a place and easy to loose it. Very frustrating given the work it takes to secure and insure the location.

    From the Facebook page:

Sorry about the rather vague references to this month's event and thanks for your patience, but a new - and thankfully improved - location is on the horizon for Cars and Cappuccino. We'll share more details very soon, once a few small final details have been ironed out. Just know that better seating, facilities and food are part of the new more "significant-other-friendly" location. So as of this week, the Foxcroft location is no longer the official gathering location for Cars and Cappuccino.
The new location is in the Myers Park area of Charlotte. It was secured by two Cars and Cappuccino "regulars" late last week during a meeting with both restaurant and property management. As you might imagine, getting an official "OK" to host a car gathering these days is not as easy as it once was. Even for more mellow and mature gathering like Cars and Cappuccino.
And as some of you know, Cars and Cappuccino has been a labor of love for several of us and we've been coming out of pocket for most of these last 5+ years to run the website and cover other costs. Going forward we'll have some increased costs for hosting the event and that means some changes for our sponsors and attendees. We've been brainstorming among ourselves to come up with ways to create win-win situations regarding support. We'll share more details on those in the coming days too.
Again, thanks for your continued patience about the new location and also for everyone's past and future support. And thanks to Caribou Coffee and Foxcroft Shopping Center for the hospitality and memories. Cars and Cappuccino had a nice long run there - almost 4 years. But better things are now in the future for Cars and Cappuccino. ; ).

So the time has come to take Cars and Cappuccino in a more private direction. For those of you in the Charlotte area that are "regulars" (or think you might want to become one), please PM me with the following information:

    1) Your name
    2) Your email address
    3) The European car you typically bring to the Cars and Cappuccino events.

We need this information to further develop our plans for the new version of the event. We won't be sharing it with anybody else.

    Thanks.

Quick update. Cars and Cappuccino has gone to a membership model. We still meet monthly in a new location. We are close to being full, but still holding back a few slots for really interesting cars. If you would like to inquire about joining, you can send an email to the Organizing Committee at: [email protected]

Alternatively, if you know a member, they can request a guest spot for you at one of the monthly gatherings.

I'm quite saddened to read that this event is now a closed/non-public model. Both times I attended at Caribou Coffee, it was a nice, low-key event - thankfully missing the poorly modded cars/stanced cars/ PepBoys modded cars that are more common at Cars and Coffee (no offense to Peter - it's still a GREAT event).

I don't have a Euro car any longer, so am I excluded completely from this event now?

They are trying to keep the riffraff away, as they got into trouble at the Caribou location.

They're at a new location and a rent-a-cop is always on duty.

It is a closed format, but there's no stopping people from parking nearby and walking over to the new location.
