The blue and white one, #41, was that at the Colorado Grand this year? Great pictures; thank you for sharing.
Sid Colberg (San Francisco) had one just like this in a warehouse (it was nextdoor to Austin-Healey West, where I was employed; our bldg also owned by Sid, and now ALL consumed by the Moscone Center). Could this have been his car? You might remember Sid as the 212 owner (different car than that one with the eyebrows, as he called them) that had a boat hanging over the car, until the rope rotted away and broke; caved in the roof nicely. He also had a rolling 750 Monza (no driveline, no brakes) that was more or less discarded in our bodyshop area. I practically begged him for that hulk, but he considered it too far gone to do anything with (this is all circa 1978).
That coupe is indeed a Zagato bodied, LWB Tour de France, # 0665GT. It is now owned by Lee Herrington. Joel
Hello, Here is my contribution... A Portuguese 250 MM photographed in the mid 50s. I wonder where it is now? The gentelman besides it, today 73 years old, is Mr. Maurílio Afonso. The roof was handcrafted by him and you all agree that it is a piece of art. Although not beautiful, it was requested by the owner, Mr. Salvação Barreto, I think. Any thoughts on the VIN? This reminds me of the story of a 250MM which was apparently at Amerigo's scrap yard just north of Lisbon, until about 1988. Do you know about that car? Could it be the same one?
Here is a photo og Gene Greenspun at Sebring in 1956. In 1957 he and Olivier Gendebien shared a 250 Europa. Image Unavailable, Please Login
