I’m sure most of you are following the auctions....market overall soft but the CGT doesn’t seem to be doing too bad relative to other cars...lots of reserves not being met. The famous PTS orange sold.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my 16M
@plastique999, those numbers are not inclusive of Buyer's Premium, you need to switch that option on in the Hammer Price app to see the full & correct price paid by buyer. The full selling prices are below. The famous PTS Arancio Borealis car performed about as I expected. That car is awesome, but not necessarily as perfect as one might expect for the miles, and the color is also a bit confusing being a Lamborghini color on an iconic Porsche. The GT Silver car performed great, a bit higher than I expected actually, and is proof that the Carrera GT's trajectory is outperforming the rest of the market by some margin IMO. I was lucky enough to be accepted to display Carrera GT #0580 in Fayence Yellow at The Quail this year in the Supercars class. I sourced this example for one of our best clients last year. The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering has, over the past 17 years, maintained its status as one of the very best events to grace Monterey Car Week IMO. It was a great day meeting with old friends and new - we hope to be back next year! One beautiful white example which is currently offered for sale in Munich. ''Here is chassis WP0ZZZ98Z6L000061. It was supplied new to the Middle East market, and sold to its first owner on September 2005 via Ali & Sons Motors of Abu Dhabi. Finished in extremely rare Carrera White with Terracotta leather to the interior, this example will remain in Abu Dhabi until 2009 before being acquired by its second UK-based owner and showing circa 6,000 original KM. During its life in the United Kingdom, WP0ZZZ98Z6L000061 received a comprehensive maintenance program by Porsche Center of Reading before being purchased by third and actual owner from Germany in Spring 2017. Immediately upon purchase the car was sent to Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart for a complete service and is today showing a mere 9,100 km from new.'' Beautiful car, although it would be nice to see some of the trim modifications corrected back to OEM factory finish. PTS Carrera GTs are something really special, they are just so rare especially in the USA.
As I said a year ago https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/145785478/ there is something special about a Porsche GT car in (Porsche Motorsports heritage) white.

Some pictures below taken in 2004 of the Carrera GT first owned by Noel Lee, the CEO of Monster Inc., the company that eventually co-developed (depending on who you ask) the Beats headphone brand which was sold to Apple for $3 billion in 2014. This car is finished in the very rare combination of Guards Red (~42 units for USA) over Ascot Brown. It is shown here in front of a Starbucks in Burlingame, CA, where Lee was said to park it frequently in the handicapped zone, resulting in regular $360 tickets for a ~$4 cup of coffee. Anybody know the VIN or build # of this example / where it is today? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
After some research, I'm fairly certain the above car is WP0CA29854L001048, originally registered in Brisbane, CA, only 9 miles away from Burlingame where those photos were taken. The car showed up in Florida around October 2007, then Pennsylvania in January 2012. Interestingly enough, I was offered this car last year, small world when it comes to Guards Red / Ascot Carrera GTs! A recent picture of the car below, these days it's at over 8,000 miles.
