458 Carbon seats

My percentage is 100% and I agree- the regular seats don’t seem to ‘fit’ aesthetically in the car to me.

Not in 458, that car looks like an F8. I agree those seats look great. When I had a 458 carbon seats were a must have option

Test drove one with the sports. Then lucky enough to have one with the CF racers. Really add to the experience. Fit me like a glove.

I loved the carbon seats but my wife's only stipulation on the car was heated seats. I've considered buying a single carbon bucket and putting it in on the driver's side...

I'm with JC1 on this one, heated seats were a deal breaker for me. 50F and overcast in San Diego today, but still top down weather with the seat heaters on.

 

Every F8 I searched and see since I bought mine all have carbon racing seats- so I’d say a large % have them. I love mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login

No idea on 458 % with carbon seats but if you look right now at 458’s for sale, most do not have them. The carbon seats are amazing.

I agree, must have. I was lucky enough to recently purchase a 458 Spider with CF seats, white on red, with 2,300 miles. My favorite recent acquisition. Rare to find nicely optioned 458s.

 

I don’t see many 458 or 488 with Race seats…it’s a rare option. You see most F8 with race seats though.

The race seats are beautiful, fit the car perfectly and are comfortable and supportive. The 1 option I wish my 488 had was race seats. My next Ferrari Will definitely have them.

 

a 2300 mile 458??!! WOW that's amazing-- you make me feel inadequate with 4150 on my F8 - That's it, I'm putting mine in the garage for next 10 years.

 

Quite easy to add heat. I pulled my seats and had my upholstery shop add a seat heating kit.

I regularly check F8 inventory and pricing at 5 Ferrari dealers on the East coast. About 1/3 of that population are equipped with race seats.

 

Anyone know why the carbon seats were such a rare option on the 458? I know it was an $8k option, but that doesn't seem like it would be that much of a deterrent. Looking at the used market it looks like less than 10% of the cars had the carbon seats.

 

…… I made the mistake of sitting in race seats. The Daytonas I have are like sofas. I wish I had the race seats. I’ve kept an eye out for used set that matched my interior

 

Just speculation, I don't think it's the 8K that kept people off, but many didn't have an opportunity to sit in a car with race seats, so they assume the race seats = uncomfortable. The reality is the race seats are very comfortable and save you about 70lb as a bonus..and allow you to sit lower to the car. The other reason could be owners want electronically adjustable seats vs. manual
