    Does anyone know how to turn off the car wash activation mode on my 488?

    Happens when you shift to neutral and turn the engine off within 3 seconds I believe. Then the car does not activate the auto parking brake for it to roll in to a conveyor.

    To avoid this, you can just turn the car off in 1st gear.

    Wowowoow dude we can’t switch out exhausts but Ferrari lets you take it to a touch car wash. THAT should void warranty and ban you from future purchases

    Here’s the problem……

    The 458 does not have a Neutral when in the off position.

    It is a silly design quirk, most folks would never even notice it.

    The car wash activation mode puts the car in a Neutral mode, but you have to leave the ignition on. If you turn the ignition off, the car wash mode ceases after a few seconds. Great!

    In order to be able to roll the car when it’s off, you have to manually disengage the transmission with a tool they provide in the toolkit. Good luck retrieving it if you drop it in the engine bay!

    So they made a stupid problem even stupider.

    What’s even more funny is the 458 Challenge race car doesn’t have a Park, or a Parking brake. You can turn the car off in gear, but it reverts to Neutral.

    So….when you shut the car off, it just rolls away by itself. The first time I put it on a trailer and turned the car off in gear, it started to roll off. I about **** myself.
