Hi Everyone: When I was younger, I used to turn a wrench for a living. So I would like to do a little work on my 2004 360 (including repairing a front belly pan in which a previous owner used a floor jack to punch a perfectly circular hole through it...dumbass). So I am looking at ramps that will work with the car. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone tried these? Several Fchat members including myself use Rhino Ramps... Amazon.com: RhinoGear 11909 RhinoRamps Vehicle Ramps (Pair, 12,000lb. GVW Capacity): Automotive
Gotta love the RhinoRamps. $45...probably the cheapest thing that I could ever buy for the car . I will order them today. THANKS!
Ditto on the Rhino Ramps. Went up just fine with the F1. However, I have been looking at the race ramps because they give you an extra 2" of lift, and the approach angle is lower. Having the extra 2" will be helpful getting to all of those bolts holding the under tray for sure.
Are you sure about that? The measurements for the Race Ramps are 56 x 12 x 8 inches versus 35.5 x 12 x 8.5 inches for the Rhino Ramps. I am not 100% certain, but I believe the height of each (8 inches versus 8.5 inches) is measured at the lip on the end of the ramp, not that portion where the tire lays flat.
Yes, I am sure. Race Ramps have a number of different options, one is the 10" New Race Ramps Drive on Ramps 3000 lbs Pair 67" Long x 10" Tall x 14" Wide | eBay
Check out these Race Ramp wheel cribs which are pretty cool (and similar to what Ferrari recommends) although a bit pricey. Amazon.com: Race Ramps RR-WC-12-2 12" Adjustable Wheel Crib: Automotive You'd obviously need to jack up your car to be able to use these.
I would like to get the system they have here in this video.... I don't have room for a lift, and this comes apart in pieces. Sure is $$ though. https://www.youtube.com/embed/5mB6Eq1xR_M
Rhino Ramps? I use the cheap walmart ramps. Only on the rear though.. front is too low to work with them.
I double-checked and the Race Ramps height measurement is the actual height the tire will be lifted off the ground whereas that is not the case for the Rhino Ramps (which are 2 inches lower at 6.5 inches). Here's the measurements for the Race Ramps reference in the first post. Amazon.com: Race-R Low Profile Sports Car Ramps: Brute Industries: Automotive Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a Rotary lift in my shed / garage, but my Murci is too low, so I have to first drive up onto Race Ramps and then swivel the arms under it... W
I have the Bridjit curb ramps installed on my driveway and they work great. One of those "why I waited so long......" Dan Protect Your Car from Rolled Curb Driveways With Bridjit Curb Ramps - YouTube
Yep! True! I am actually lucky as the inventor and owner and seller is John and he lives about 40 miles from me so I drove to his home and bought 6 pieces. Very nice guy. Now I never have to worry about scraping my front bumper as I drive towards my garage. Dan
Excellent tool! Thanks for the info Kevin! Didn't know those jack point jackstands exists. I think I will order a pair once I get back home. Dan
These are so cool! Do you know which pads to get for a 360? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0flclqcxl0
I think either of these would work, if you permanently attached the rubber to the raised circular part in the center. Personally I would like to see a hockey puck permanently attached to the disc for my 360 but if you are going to use it on a different car also the smaller contact patch might make more sense. Those stands look cool. Just to add. Never and I mean never get under a car unless she is on jack stands. Jack stands are a must. I don't car how well made the ramps are. Get a set of jack stands and use them. EVERYTIME. R
