    Hi,

Because I'm new on this chat first I would like to salute all the Ferrari owners and followers which leave in here their valuable contributions.

I have a Cali 2010 color nero daytona which I bought second hand in Germany in absolute perfect condition, with low mileage (17.000 Km) and completely fully equipped. The previous owner who bought the car new installed a Capristo exhaust system which has a small remote control that enables us to open or close the exhaust valves. The sound with the valves open is astonishing and according to Capristo their exhaust system is able to increase the engine power 20 to 30 HP.

Because this is my first Cali and I've never experienced driving another of the same year range with a standard exhaust, I would appreciate very much receiving feed backs about the differences from other owners which are familiar with both types of exhaust systems.

On my initial post I mentioned the Capristo exhaust system was able to increase 20-30 hp my Cali's 2010 power. This value interval was presented in i-tube dino test of a Cali engine comparing the standard exhaust with the Capristo exhaust system.

The enclosed document was taken from Capristo Germany web page and they talk about a power increase of 17 -19 hp for the Cali with the Capristo exhaust system. Does anyone has access to dino tests made on Cali's with the Capristo exhaust system which could clarify if the hp increase is 17-19 or 20-30 ?

I doubt you will ever see that kind of hp gains from an exhaust - especially if the manifolds and cats are stock. If you want to find out how much power you got, take your car to a reputable dyno shop. Do at least 10 power pulls with a heat soaked engine, take the average of that and then you know what you have. One pull on an engine that is not heat soaked as in only warmed up tells nothing and make sure the number is calculated using a proper SAE standerd - namely the J1349 standerd.

I keep seeing yes, no, yes.

Is there a way to increase the horse power of the California T?

Steep hill ...everything else of significance seems to be a trade off on warranty or durability. And how much does 30hp really add on a 550 car? I think magnitude is the issue.

The Cali T is a completely different ballgame as it's a turbo engine. The Novitec ECU will net you about 85 honest PS. The exhaust adds very little. Adding an X-Pipe and a back box adds about 4-5 PS and adding sports cats adds about another 8 PS. If you only add the exhaust to a stock Cali T, the gain will be even less. Sort of tells you how much power a cat-back can actually add. Novitec might be expensive, but their products are thoroughly tested and proven. It's not a custom ECU tune done by "some shop" and they don't claim huge questionable gains.

As for the Cali, I don't know if the stock manifolds are as bad as the 458 design is claimed to be. But if it is, there are power to be gained on a Cali with proper equal length headers and an ECU tune.
