    Hey everybody,

I have been planning on purchasing my first ferrari soon ( from new )however i can't decide on which model i should go for.
This will be my first supercar ( daily driver - RangeRover sport ).

I was planning on getting a 488 GTB but i am having doubts about getting such a powerful car for my first. Im not a crazy driver in the slightest however seeing as its my first supercar the power makes me nervous.
I started looking at the portofino which is also a beautiful car, however deep down i feel like i prefer the GTB. for the looks etc.
Now, would picking a GTB over a portofino for my first be a big mistake ? My mind right now is telling me yes. But i would like some opinions :).

Also, the other models my local dealership has are the 812 superfast, GTC4lusso & the GTC lusso T

Kind regards , Stay safe !

Have you test driven any of them? If not, then asking us what you will prefer is akin to asking us what should be your favorite flavor ice cream.

Get one of each! That will keep the miles down on them. :D

There comes a point that we have no way of knowing which Ferrari you should buy. You've gotten quite a bit of advice; you need to either start using your own judgement, or delay the purchase.

Go drive them all and look at them. Get the one that you like the most. Easy Peasy. You can almost never have too much power. Your right foot dictates how fast the thing moves.

Ding! Da Doctor is in da house.

First question: Do you drive your cars, or do you, well, this is a little indiscreet, do you admire your cars with a cigar and sniffer of brandy?

Serious question because all answers from here on out depend on your answer.

Do you want a car that will challenge you? Or, do you want a car that will look cool parked in front of a titty bar?

Sniffer of Brandi or a snifter of brandy? Depends which bar you park in front of ;)

Any new Ferrari is going to be so powerful you won’t approach its potential on the street. And they all can be driven docilely. If you want open air and to attract less attention, Portofino. You can drive it to the grocery store. If you want to attract crowds wherever you go, the 488 is better at that. It’s less practical on a daily basis. The 812 is the most likely to wrap itself around a tree if you floor it and drive like an idiot - or let Brandi take it for a (literal) spin.

If one can’t decide what Ferrari to get new, the op hasn’t listened to their gut. That will tell you which one to get. I suspect it won’t be driven and is more a “this is MY Ferrari.. please don’t touch it” kind of thing..
