Has anyone compared these two Ferrari colours? I am thinking of having the Daytona repainted in one or the other.

    Thanks

    Thanks Greg

They look very similar from those shots. I wonder why Ferrari introduced the new colour G. Silverstone.

I haven't seen cana di fucile but grigio silverstone is a fantastic color. It's not too dark. My F430 is grigio silverstone and the color in the sun looks great.

    Canna is a Volvo colour.

Neither were available on the Daytona.

Both are Ferrari colours. Canna di Fucile is a very old option and I believe G. Silverstone was introduced around 2004/5. It is true that neither were available as a standard option on Daytonas..... unless someone on here knows of one spec'd as a special.

What I mean is the colour is a Volvo colour, the name is different. It was introduced around the time of the 456 as Chris Rea, the musician, wanted this colour on his car and Ferrari liked it so added it to the range.

If you are not going to paint your car in the original colour at least choose something that was available.

    What, like red ?
Unless its going in for concours or such like, i dont see why it has to be painted in a period available colour. Half the pleasure of having these beauties is the ability to be unique.
I dont personally like the 2 options of silver, but its not my choice. I dare say either would look good on a daytona. It has the surface area to make a colour like that look ok.
My personal choice in colours for Daytonas i've seen are yellow, black, & a dark midnight blue.

I'll vote for the dark blue. If it is to be one of the silver color, I would choose the darker one. Just a matter of personal taste...

a daytona period correct color of grigio ferro metallizzaton is similar and worth considering. i personally am not a great daytona fan, however, in this color, a daytona would look awesome.

I once had a 348 Spider in Canna. It looked spectacular. It is much darker than Silverstone and looks black in low light. I would choose that color over Silverstone alll the time.

I have been trying to track down Grigio Ferro Metallizzaton but with no success. Do you have a colour code ?

Do you know whether Canna di Fucile was a colour that was available in the early seventies ? Mark Shannon over here in the u.k seems to think that it was a Volvo colour adopted by Ferrari after someone spec'd up a 456 in it.

You know the color codes are by year or at least vendor specific, by manufacturer....

That's why the current modern codes don't match to the ones of our years..

Are you hooked up to the Factory Owner's Site?

They respond to questions like this....they could get you the proper code for the color wspeer has shown..

That's the reason the Ferrari codes are mind boggling when sorted by color, it's a set from Glasurit, another set from Glidden, finally IIRC, its PPG or DuPont......

Canna De Fucile loosely translates as Gun Metal so it has a metalic finish.
I think it is the best Ferrari color for small cars. I'm not sure how it would look on a Daytona with its long sloping hood. I personally prefer black for the Daytona
