    Yea, take your shots.

After 10 years of being a workaholic, the payoff looks to be on the horizon. Looks like by summer, I may be in a position to order that Ferrari I have dreamed about for 40 years. I am in love with the California. About 10 years ago, I got to drive a Mondial. I was about 30 pounds lighter then than I am now, it was tight. I am on a diet, and have already dropped 40 pounds. I need to loose about 60 more. Right now, I tip the scales at just over 300 pounds.

    CAN I FIT?

What's your weight now? I don't see it as being a problem if you continue to lose more weight. Why don't you try sitting in one to determine for yourself?

It's going to be a tight fit in an F430 or 458 (my guess).

At 300lbs, maybe you should try a 550 or 575.

Thanks guys. I am expecting it will be summer before I can commit to the purchase. I plan to pay cash. I expect to get down to below 270 by them.

I love the community here. I hope I can find other enthusiasts here in North Alabama.

It will be tight and inconvenient as compared with larger transportation but yes, you can fit. I have seen a rather large person (likely 300lb+) get into a Ferrari and drive happily. Any regular over weighted person would see this as an unnecessary inconvenience, and wouldn't think of buying such a low and cramped car. But if you love Ferrari's, then by all means go for it and be happy that you did.

    BTW, welcome to fchat. :)

Doesn't anybody read anything any more?

[Rant on] It seems to me that the above nonsense is, unfortunately, getting more and more prevelant herein. This is a real "hot topic" to me right now - Sorry, but dayum!.... [/Rant off]

I had a Miata when I was @ 260, that was tight. Then I moved to a MB SL (got a deal) comfortable car, but not a drivers car. I love small cars that are screwed to the road. I have just blown up, but I am not going to make excuses.

It's usually easy for any size person to get into a Ferrari . The issue is "can you get out". That is the test. So if you pass the test then buy it. Good luck.

We aren't here to rip you man, just keep charging on the weight loss. I am 6'2 and around 220. The 348 was fine, even with the CF seats, but you would have a tough time with those seats. The 308 is tighter still but I make it, and love it. Since I don't plan any cross country runs I am ok. I would be VERY tight in a 308 for you. Likely no way, but you are looking for a touring type, which is better suited to your large frame.

A California should be ok, but I have only seen them, I haven't parked my arse in one yet. Like the previous posters said, look at the California, and a 575 would be another sweet car and you would be fine there as well. I have moved those and they have more room than most.

Looks like a 599 works from the pics I see from that video as well. That is one big dude and he didn't seem to mind the fit. That is one happy German guy (or Austrian, whatever).

Best wishes and keep us informed of the search!

    He looks bigger than me.

At least I think he does.

    Maybe.

    It's a toss up.

Ok, I still got work to do.

HAHA. Naw, I think I can fit there now.

I have a friend who weighs about 300 and he can fit in both my 430 and 550.
He leans the seat all the way back.

I think the modern-era Ferraris (360 and later) have wider cockpits than the older ones.

How tall are you? I'm 5'11" and ...fat, and I fit in everything from a Lotus Elise to a BB/LM.

It all depends on how a person carries their weight. I'm 6' 310 and I had a 328 for 2.5 years. I've also driven a Lotus Elise, which was more difficult getting in and out. Just find someone in your area and give it a shot.

How fat? She could be 5'0" and appear to have a fat ass, but no problem in any bucket seat. Compared to a 5'8" woman, it is physically smaller.

Or she could be that 5'8" woman and have an ass the size of table for four. Then, a Hummer is recommended.

The guy driving the 599 must be in some pain because the side bolsters on the seats are not too forgiving, even with the most relaxed seat adjustments. 430 is an easier fit and the California would me the most comfortable next to the 612 IMO.

Regardless, sounds like your weight loss plan is working so Keep At It as it's a great excuse for ownership. How about no Ferrari until you're 250, make it a goal, have fun and enjoy.

Its true Carbon. Fat is where you look down and can't see the reason you reproduce.

Getting in is probably not a problem. Getting out....in the "proper" way without seat bolster wear, is a major problem. Then again, the bolster will wear anyway if you don't fit in the seat.

What's the problem? Sit in one now. If you can't do it comfortably, keep losing the weight.

A Ferrari at the end of the tunnel is just about the best motivation for weight loss (or anything else) that I can imagine.

Not trying to "rip" on you, just saying that if you can't fit now, buy it when you can.

Good luck. Welcome to F-Chat, and be sure to post pics when you do buy your Ferrari!

Im around the 280 pound mark now and I fit quite comfortably in my 348. :D:D

Like any Ferrari, its a pain getting in and out because they are so low. :D:D

But once your in there, there is ample room. :D:D
