Only difference that I'm aware of is the Handling Speciale package was not available initially for 2015 ... I think 2016. But those mufflers can be added later.

People like the shields and Magneride, Apple Carplay was an expensive upgrade. 20" rims were de rigeur opposed to the base model 19, painted calipers, and either full electric (heated) backbone or Daytona seats, but I don't think very many of these were ordered as strippers, most you will find with Magneride, 20s and some interior upgrades.

Other than Sports Exhaust what does HS package give you? How can you tell if the car has Mag Ride? Also what should I expect extended warranty to run...or should I just "self insure"?

Some suspension upgrades (stiffer springs, maybe quicker steering) as well with the HS package. The car will have the "bumpy road" button on the steering wheel if it is equipped with Magneride -- a little button with a shock absorber right by the start button. The HS exhaust is a marked improvement, I added it to my car.

Warranty is expensive ... $6k or so annually, and does not cover everything -- but does cover the gearbox and the top. Personal choice ... I self insure by not spending the $6k and I'm $18k ahead with no issues on a 2015 with 30k miles. But I also had two trouble free years under warranty so I was confident in the car.

How good is the Magnerride option? Is it a must have? The two cars I'm interested in both don't have this option.

Mine is a 2015, I believe you can operate the top at low speeds on a 2016 or newer. Mine must be stopped for top to operate.

Nope. Only in a Portofino. Even the last Cali Ts you need to be stopped.

I'm see more cars without than with the Magneride option. Anyone care to chime in if this is a must have option? Do you think this option has only effect on resale value?

Not entirely true for the 2015.

After a few seconds while still holding down the button to put the top up or down, you can then start moving and the roof will continue to operate (mine is a 2015 too). I don't know the exact mph before it stops and tells you to be stationary, but I can tell you it's not much.. like a couple mph. I do this while rolling waiting for a garage door to fully open.....

    I just bought one
My only thought was the Handling Speciale option. I missed two red cars, but actually love Giallo!

I am very happy to have Apple CarPlay

It had a power warranty, but I was asked to buy one to help their sales numbers. It was tacked on to the end of the previous. My car is now covered until Nov of 2027. I can’t complain about that.

I don't love the fact that the wheels were painted, but I will deal with that the next time I need tires.

In a previous career, I worked on tuning those shocks. I don't think Ferrari uses all the algorithms available to them. I believe they have their own ECU. They are incredible if tuned properly. I need more time in my car to see what they aren't using. FWIW, I also know someone that did calibration work on the 458.

I have a 2015 with it and I can definately tell a difference. Comfort mode and Sport mode with bumpy road activated give me more responsiveness but a "softer" ride

I drive my '17 Cali T HS about 3,000 miles per year, which is a lot around town and also on some back curvy and bumpy roads. The magnerride is a must have in my book! But I suppose if you don't start with it, you won't know what you are missing. But it is quite the difference and I use it 90% of the time.
