Has anyone ever carried a bike in their California, either dismantled or on some kind of rack? I have road bike I would like to take cycling but can’t find any carrier options?

I would be happy to take both wheels off but not sure frame would fit inside even without wheels. I won’t have passengers. Maybe if I recline passenger seat all the way back??

The only possible solution is the SeaSucker bike rack , as long as the roof is closed. I see one on a Cayman frequently here in NoVa.
That would certainly turn heads on a Ferrari !

Yes I did see them but was bit worried it could damage the hardtop slab? Cayman fixed top so yes see that working well.

    Related question:

Does a KIDS bike (16") fit into the California/Portofino boot?

I mean without taking the front wheel off (but rotating the handlebars is okay)

Owner manuals in the Cali/Porto series give height restrictions for rear seat occupants that suggest a child able to ride a bicycle would not meet the Ferrari safety standard for rear seat use.

Putting kids, and also their kid seats when needed, into the rear seats has worked for some and been problematic for others. The Cali T owner's handbook is very clear on not allowing anyone over 59 inches tall (4 ft, 11 in,, 1.50 m) to sit in the back seat for safety reasons described in the handbook (top mechanism, rear window clearance from rear passenger head, and for roll bar safety equipment in an accident). Presumably this 59 inch limit would apply for booster seats by considering the torso height plus seat elevation for a child. The Cali T manual gives an example of a maximum child height of 40 in (1.02 m) when using a specific Britax-Romer approved child seat. Also, the legroom is rather limited in back, one should consider how much legroom is needed even with front seats forward to comfortable driving position. Maybe it would work fine for you.

Thanks for raising this. I was mostly concerned about fitting the bike, but sitting the child himself indeed could be a challenge of its own.

Regarding the 40in (1.02m) height limit I suppose Ferrari borrowed that number from the Britax-Romer spec of that particular seat (as opposed to subtracting elevation from the 59in overall limit). May I ask you if the Cali T manual list Britax-Romer seats for taller kids?

I appreciate it's a brand new (hence mostly clean) bike, but did you put it directly on leather because there wasn't enough space in trunk?

Bike on the back means child must sit on the front (using a child seat). And now my problem is how to deactivate airbag of a non-US Portofino...

The Cali T manual, page 82, lists "Special Ferrari BabySmart child restraint systems (Produced by Britax-Romer, front passenger seat only)" and shows two choices, depending on baby weight, as "BABY Plus" and "DUO Plus". Page 63 shows a table "Produced by Britax-Romer" which shows the 40 inch child height limit along with 40 pound/18kg weight limit for front seat forward-facing child seat "DUO Plus". Additional focus on child safety is on pages 50-55. For US cars there also is the "California T Restraint Systems" brochure issued to United States customers.

If considering the rear seats for baby/child seating, the Cali T manual shows a variety of seat choice constraints depending on baby/child weight, with no call out noted by me about Britax-Romer in those charts.

For taller kids in rear seat there is a relevant remark in the manual about all people should have at least one inch of head clearance from rear window.

I would not normally consider sitting my child on the front because that would defeat the purpose of a 2+2 seater. Besides, deactivating airbag does not look straightforward in non-US models.

Still confused about whether back seats can safely accommodate my 5 year old, 43" son...
If you have time and are able to pm me the charts that would be most helpful. In any case, thank you for your inputs.
