Came across a spider on dupont. California azzurro blue!!! On picture it looks better than grigio alloy (imo). Is this a metallic colour? -Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a beautiful color which is quite unusual. I had heard there were only six (6) 360's painted in this color, but I am not sure of this number, however. There are very few of them. Mine is a joy to look at and to drive, and it gets considerable attention because it's not red or yellow! A few pictures right after magician, Bob Willis, did his magic. Greg, beautiful car! I wanted a 360 Spider in California azzurro for a very long time, but when I had finally seen one in person, I wasn't crazy about it. It could very well have been because the car I saw had some ugly aftermarket chrome wheels on it, but nonetheless, it just ruined it for me. From then on, I didn't care to get the color anymore. It's weird too because everytime I see pics of it, such as yours, I love it.
I know of at least 24 360 Spiders painted in Azzurro California... I'll see what I can dig up on Modenas...
I absolutely love azzurro blue on the 360. When I go shopping for a 360 it has to be azzurro blue. Congrats to everyone who has one.
LOL... A few hours ago, I was trying to find one after your first post... I could've sworn someone posted a picture of an Azzurro California Challenge Stradale not too long ago, and I thought I saved it to my computer, but I just couldn't find it... I even used the search feature here () but to no avail... Hopefully, someone will find it and post it... It's really beautiful...
Mr Carbon, See what you can find for actual Azzuro numbers. Again, I was told only 6 so your number of 24 is surprising but could be accurate. Maybe www.red-headed.com would know. It is a neat 360 and the color is very attractive. I did at one time look at a spider in Azzuro but did not think it looked as good as the coupe. It had the Sabbia interior, and it was a stunner, but the light interior was too great a contrast. I tell you mine sure gets plenty of attention. Remember, too, that Bob Willis brought out the beauty of the color. I can't now afford to go to lunch for a while, but it was worth it! (That's a plug for you, Bob!) Are you going to Concorso this year Carbon?
if i ever need to repaint the mondi thats the color i'm going with. i had 2 old M535 BMW's in an exact color, FJord blau metalic. loved it! unique and attractive. plus a great bonus, you 'blend' on the highway to the skyline very stealth for cutting accross the desert.
My favorite! It breaks my heart that this '87 was for sale *now* - I'll have to keep tabs on it and buy it off of the next owner. Only $40k! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

The pretty girls at the 2004 FFQC chose this 575 as best in show because of its "cute" color. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Geez, you cant get away with anything on this board!! Yes, it was the 550 in the 03' event, sorry I did it form memory of watching the dvd--I stand corrected.
"The pretty girls at the 2004 FFQC chose this 575 as best in show because of its "cute" color". So, where's the picture of the "pretty girls"?
LOL... I wasn't trying to be a jerk about it. I did ride in that 575 you showed on the morning trip to lunch at the mansion, nice car and super nice gentleman.
Greg... Concorso looks doubtful this year; I'm going to Sonoma in May for the Rampage and I'm going to Miami in two weeks - and I'm going to try to make it to Texas in the fall and Long Island next month. I'm in New Jersey right now, so I won't be able to check up on any of that stuff until I get back to the office next week... I did a brief search yesterday and counted 24 different Azzurro California 360 Spiders that we know of - so there's definitely the possibility that there's a lot more than the 24 we know of - and that was just Spiders...!
Carbon, Let me know the dates you'll be out here in May and we will drive up to Sonoma to meet with you. I would be interested to know the count of Azzuro coupes. Maybe the number of 6 is correct although with 24 spiders you know of there must be more coupes than 6. The final numbers would be interesting, however.
