This is not an every time problem, just occasionally, and I haven't been able to identify any particular combination of initial drive duration/engine temp and duration of shut down/engine temp at re-start that causes the problem. When I turn off my '13 Cali after driving and then restart it several hours later (long enough to cool down somewhat but not completely cold) I sometimes get a 'Catalytic Converter Temp Not Plausible, Drive to the Dealer Slowly' message. The message will go away after several minutes of driving as the engine warms up to operating temperature again. After that everything is normal.

I suspect that the converter temp stays hot long enough to be out of the range the computer expects it to be in when it first compares the two after re-starting. Has this happened to anyone else? Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

I posted about this issue way back in 2015. I had several people message me who were experiencing similar problems.

    Here is the summary

The car was in the dealer multiple times for this problem, being off the road for almost 7 weeks in total. Finally the dealer discovered two of the valves on the fuel rails (one each side) were not shutting off completely and fuel was leaking very (very) slowly into the two cylinders. Presumably this made the mixture too rich when the car started, triggering this error message.

Two new fuel rails fixed the problem completely.

Mike sent me the link to the original post and he had exactly the same set of symptoms I do now. Thanks a million, Mike.
