C8 Z06 800+ hp flat plane twin turbo

I heard from someone relaible and in the know that there are 4 versions of the C8. the top range car will have active aero.

 

And rumor has it over 1000k horsepower and 4 WD from a hybrid Powertrain. Is it an F90 killer?

 

Ordinarily I would say a vette is not a ferrari killer.
But the F9 is both heavy and ugly so almost completly lacking in Ferrari USP. When it comes to hybridiszd, overpowered, heavy vanity cars, I'll take GMs tech over ferraris.

If youre talking light stiff beautiful with highly evocative motors, ferrari have vette beaten, but that sure aint the f90.

Even the non hybrids are all turbos now, so is the ferrari 488 motor going to be better or more evocative then a flat plane crank batwing from GM?

 

Exciting times. Kind of Caddy-curious. Should be interesting how they pen it.

Yeah, ferrari has a problem, and that is lack of a core product foundation stone on which to hang their hat. The heavy overpowered Gt road car thing everybody can play.

 

Endless, pointless debate. A Chevy will never 'kill' a Ferrari. PERIOD. Just stop. It's apples and oranges.
Now, if you're talking 'bang for your buck' or outright performance numbers, then there are many cars that challenge and/or beat it. From a Tesla P100D to Corvette C8 Z06 and Zora, etc. etc.

 

Competition improves the breed. IMO, Ferrari has gone off the rail with some of its pricing. You can easily spend $100K now on customization for just ordinary things like power seats or a back up camera. $4800 for Apple Car play? Ridiculous.

I look at the C8 (if its a reliable car which we don't know yet) as what happened when Honda introduced the original NSX. Everyone had to step up their game.

Did the NSX kill Ferrari?

 

NEW RUMOR has the Z06 using a naturally aspirated high revving flat and crank V8 pushing out horsepower in the mid 600’s and shedding over 100 pounds from the standard car due to things like more carbon and carbon breaks. That would be amazing.

 

I like that much better than a 4 wheel drive hybrid.

 

It would be unique in the market place.

 

Its why I still like 458 over 488 even though the 488 is faster. That 458 engine at 9 grand is something to behold.

 

Latest I have seen is z06 flat plane crank 600hp, zr1 twin turbo flat plane motor 800HP,Zora hybrid zr1 1000 total hp.

 

Imagine what Hennesey will do with that 1000 starting HP number. 1500?

 

The La Ferrari guys are flooding the market.

 

That sounds correct with what i have heard.
Also theyre planning on loosing more than 100lbs for the z06, theres an acknowledgement that the z06 needs to be a lot more in the mold of the C6 version.
