At one point I was really serious about LB red for my Vert but after seeing some pics of it, decided it was too dark and too brown. Looks great in bright sunshine. Under clouds it seems to lose its punch. I'm hoping the new Silver has is a bit darker with a bit more punch to it. That's pretty much what I'm looking at now -- but who knows when?
so, you are allowed to change color/specs on your order up to what point? Being such a long delay, will Chevy make calls to confirm orders/specs?
There's so little information now its hard to say. And a lot depends on where in the system you are. I don't think my order has been accepted by GM yet but its submitted. Rumor has it that the Verts are being delayed until 2021 which would be like August delivery. It sort of makes sense because adding Verts to their assembly line will slow down overall production. It seems to make sense they will want to catch up with backorders of coupes as fast as they can after reopening. My guess is they will reopen sometime in May if their parts suppliers can support production also. Remember the Engine plant is in NY state and they are on a different lockdown than Kentucky. If that plant is late opening then they may delay even more. In a normal process you cannot change after its "accepted" but given they are changing it, everything is new this time. The only exception I think is Museum delivery but I understand that's hard to change also. The short answer is-- I don't know. Under normal circumstances once the order is accepted then you can't change it. The weird part is when I put down the deposit I figured I would get it in March. Now -- September? October? Who knows. But if its then that really screws with my work schedule as that's my busy season. I may ask to delay it more until spring 2021.
same red vert pics, with some info (probably nothing new) on possible 2020 vert production. https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2020/04/26/spied-unicorn-sighting-of-a-2020-corvette-stingray-convertible/
I mean, who would be looking on a Ferrari site for the latest C8 Convertible pics? (and who knows where/if 'jm2's friend posted them first)
The answer is YES but I posted those last night on the Vette sight after John said it was OK. They ripped off my post but I figured they would. LB red is dead Jim.
Great podcast by Mike Furman at Criswell... Most questions are answered here about how to get one from him... https://anchor.fm/steve-garrett/episodes/Corvette-Today-2---with-Mike-Furman--the-leading-Corvette-salesperson----IN-THE-WORLD-ed970e
I'm sure my friend that took the pix won't mind. He'll probably be surprised to see them though. It's the internet........whatever.
Being a yellow car kinda guy, I just can't warm up to that new yellow. There's one I see periodically around here, and I just can't deal with it. I guess that's my problem.......
Thank you for posting, I think the darker color makes the lines of the car much sharper and more formed. Awesome. Color choice confirmed!
I picked LBR but not many did or the old man tan bronze color. LBR and Bronze are out for 2021 and with all the delays mine will be a 2021. At this point why would anyone want an almost 1 year old 2020 especially in August. I
Rumor has it the Bowling Green factory is OPENING on May 14th -- possibly bringing back the double shift they had when they shut down.
