Perez sacrficed to make way for Vettel was on the cards anyway. One hoped that common sense would prevail, but it didn't in this case.
yup! If they were serious for the points they would keep Perez over Stroll all day long!!! Stroll has had dome good results, but Perez is better! I wonder when they will announce Vettel?
Agree'd but its F1 common sense is not a defining quality. Vettel is damaged as a driver. Lacks race craft and emotional control when it counts. But Aston Clone Cheat Point need a 'top' driver I suppose. He was at one time assuming Vettel is actually hired. Nothing in the press confirming. Given what Perez did personally he has been done over much worse than Ferrari on Vettel. Here's to hoping a distinct lack of success for Aston Clone Cheat Point in the future.

I suppose that he didn´t have the marketing appeal that the megalomaniacal project of Stroll needs. And of course he wasn´t going to fire his son. I think Perez is a good driver, and also can bring some sponsorpship. Haas, Alfa Romeo or whatever is left of Williams could make good use of him.
I think Force India (then) was very happy to see Ocon go, whatever the reason was. Rumours were that he was big headed and became resented by the staff. His manager, Toto Wolff, got wind of this and kept him on the sideline at Mercedes. The deal with Renaukt was a godsend for Wolff.

The rumours about Ocon´s bad temper had been floating around for some time. We´ve seen something of that in the post-race comments with his engineer this last weekend. That is not incompatible with good skills as a driver or with his humble origins. Yeah, surprisingly poor men can be morons too.
And here I thought Ocon was kicked out by Lance Stroll due to Dad buying Force India out of administration.(2018)
Perez was close to do the same with Gasly at Spa. Perhaps he dislikes the french drivers or the rooster cocoricoo ? Who knows ?
U do realize the wealth Perez brings VS ocon who basically grew up in a trailer. We hear a lot about the Hamilton was poor non sense but Ocon comes from nada, nothing, nichts, rien. In a sport where money is everything that has to mean something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep. Perez and Ocon were a great pair though for the team regarding points they both brought. Stroll vs Perez in 2019 points wise......not so much.
Ocon is despised throughout the paddock because of his attitude. He comes from a poor family, true, but humble is not what you would call him... Perez saved Force India from being erased. He's a quick guy, well liked...he made sure no one lost his job. He put his own career on the line.
