The K29 family of BMW motorcycles is unique, awesome, and ultra-classic. They are the equivalent of the Porsche 993: the final and best iteration of the air-cooled boxer (first introduced in 1923). The K29 family is comprised of two models, the R1200S and the track-ready HP2S. Many parts are interchangeable between both bikes.

The R1200S (2006 to 2008) succeeded the R1100S and offered superior handling, improved braking, lower weight (29 lb. lighter), and 25% more power (122 horsepower and 83 lb-ft of torque) as well as greater ground clearance and sport ergonomics.

The BMW R1200S has a reported 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and can do the quarter mile in 11.1 seconds. Less than 500 units were produced for the US market in four colors: black, yellow, silver, and red/silver (a.k.a candy cane or Nemo).

With its highly tractable engine and broad power band, the R1200S is equally at ease on the tracks and on the road. As with all big twin BMWs, it comes with a no-maintenance shaft final drive.

This bike has had three owners. It was in California from 2008 to 2018, then Wisconsin until 2021, and now it’s in Arizona.
