    Evening,

I am looking to buy my first Ferrari - going for a second hand Lusso around 3 years old - should I go for a main dealer or specialist independent? Thoughts please

    Thanks
    Mark

Welcome - main dealer should give you two years of proper warranty - worth about ten grand (SOR car owner might be able to extend) - renewing the factory warranty after a gap after the original one ends can cause gaps in coverage

Look in the general Lusso section about foibles

You can always check the service record or get the car checked over by Ferrari. New cars come with a 3 year warranty so most people would get the car serviced with the dealer just before the 3 year warranty ran out. If it had a full check each year and on the 3rd year anniversary, and isn't very low mileage it's very unlikely something will go majorly wrong in year 4 or 5. All things being equal get the one from the dealer, but I wouldn't be afraid to get one elsewhere if the price and spec were attractive.
