    Can someone with experience tell me what buying a car in Dubai and then importing it to the US entails? The classic car dealer in Dubai tells me there is no export tax. Should I expect to only pay my state sales tax, license and registration fee? Can anyone recommend a good shipper?

    Not if the car is 25 years old or older, which I assume is what the OP is referring to. I bet he is trying to buy one of Tomini Classics cars? Anyway, once you ship it you only have to pay 2.5% import fee to get it thru US customs.

    gbutler is right on the money, it is indeed a Tomini Classics car. 2.5% is in fact the number huh?? And yes it is older than 25 years.

    Not necessarily from Tomini. Most of these cars from this dealer did not come from the Middle East. Most have been bought on the auction circuit over the last 5 years thru an American dealer who was partners with Tomini. PM me if you would like more info.
