BUGATTI VEYRON AT MERC GARAGE ON M40

Saw the red black veyron at Romans on sunday, bloody gorgeous, but i cant post my pics as they asked i didnt post pics on net and i have to respect that.Although i dont see what their reasoning is?

Yep he went and bought the Veyron,SLR, M6, and the F430 Sypder. He is in Dubai at the moment and when he comes back he will be collecting them.

 

Grr...they moved the white cone that was in front of all of my pictures....lucky!

I just heard that Bugatti/VW have said that if they do not get an exemption from the new US regulations regarding Air bag quality then they will be forced to end the production of the current Veryon, and that the new revised version will not go ahead.

The problem is that in most states in the US it is not imperative to wear a seatbelt while driving, and therefore airbag regulations are a lot more stringment that in Europe. This is especially aimed at saving the lives of children travelling in the front of a car, while not wearing a seatbelt. The new regs will affect the Veryon (and Lambos), and without the lucrative US market VW has said thet the project is not viable.

They are hoping for an exemption, as they are argueing that children will rarely be travelling in a Veryon, however it does not look good - so if you want one, buy it now, as these might be the last ones.....

 

That whole story was on the front page of the FT last week
Ferrari have got exactly the same endless problem with the 430

However I think the story is rubbish because:
1. Ferrari and Lambo keep getting their exemptions
2. Even if they couldn't sell in America, Bugatti have enough orders from the rest of the world
