Bugatti on schedule------------

so how come bugatti introduced the air vents behind the front wheels ,(stating they were neccessary due to buffeting wind problems at high speed) develop the car with those vents and then according to the article will produce the production car without those vents? wont that give rise to the original problem, which is why the car had the vents introduced in the first place?
Now im no areodynamic expert but after introducing the vents and developing the car with them arent they essential? some one please explain, and besides i think the car looks better with them by far.
