Bugatti Chiron

I think the Veyron was an incredible achievement technologically. I always found the styling a little off, could never put my finger on it, maybe it was the rounded rear that looked a little hunchbacked. It seems the new car will look like some sort of spaceship. I wonder if it will have an impact on Veyron prices because I'm going to guess many buyers of Veyron bought the car as it was a car "never to be seen again" and I'm guessing (and this is only a guess) that they bought the car for appreciation and not because they actually loved the car or the driving experience. If the new car is better than the Veyron in every way on paper (which I assume it will be) that investment thesis just went out the window. It will be interesting to track Veyron values over the next year.

 

With Laferrari/918/P1 just as fast accelerating right now I think the Veyron will drop off significantly in the coming years. Non supersport versions will sink below half a mil I think.

 

The new car looks as if it will be a nip and tuck judging by the leaked image of the car in LA airport.

 

That is possible, but for it to happen I think the whole market would have to come off pretty hard. Unlikely to happen in an environment where papal supercars are selling in the 6s.

 

Styling-wise seems they've done everything not to upset previous customers

 

The 1930s grille looks ridiculous & uglifies the whole car

It's also too fat

 

Why? To solve an imaginary problem ?

 

Because otherwise it'll be slower on circuits for sure

The attached photos were taken at Los Angeles LAX airport and unfortunately there’s not much to talk about in terms of how it will look like as the vehicles were covered up pretty good, but at least we can see that one of the vehicles has the rear wing extended.

Yes me too. I hope for some small changes. The car it is already beautiful.

 

Those that follow Bugatti on Twitter will have already seen this, but this was posted yesterday. I never would have thought it, but it looks like a pretty direct reference to a race track in a LeMans-type pitlane. Here's hoping...

Bugatti's CEO has stated that the car will 'fascinate' customers and be more impressive that all the competitors which apparently he said he has driven. So it should be exciting but I wonder if it will beat Koenigsegg One:1 acceleration records and outrun most competitors on track because that is where the Veyron was always lacking. Many of the people in the Bugatti inner circle have seen the car and I am vey surprised that there has not been a leaked image of it and what is more surprising is that it sounds like the car is in the final stages of development, why Bugatti wont unveil it at IAA is a surprise to me.

 

I find it very beautiful..without seeing how it looks the rear.

I agree, that can't be the real deal. That render has on the internet for a while now and LoveCars blog has stated that all the renders online are fake.

I believe the same thing. It's too early for some clear design clues. Let's wait to see.

 

Well Bugatti has said they are going to unveil a GT vision at IAA in about 2 weeks that will show the design direction of future Bugatti products. So we'll have to see and wait, Bugatti has been teasing the car for awhile now.

I believe that this is just a concept for the game. Of course the new will have some clues from this concept.

I'm looking forward for Frankfurt's show.

 

We may be looking at the last purely gas powered HyperCar. It's all ready a dinosaur and it hasn't even been released yet.

 

Wow. The Vision Gran Turismo is gorgeous. Is this the realization of the Chiron? Or, a separate effort. Also, from looking at their web site, are they implying a return to LeMans? Thank you very much for posting this link, Uwe...T
