While cleaning the windshield of my 86 328 GTS the plastic clip between the drivers side wiper arm and blade broke apart. I am left with just the metal arm which has a small pin or stud near the end. Clip is broken beyond repair. Anyone have this happen and how did you fix. Pricing out blade assemblies and they seem to run about $60. My old blade is fine except for this clip. Never use the wipers anyway but need them for state inspection here. Any ideas appreciated Thanks!

I've done that twice. You would think after the first time I'd have learned to lift the wipers up when cleaning the windshield.

    Kevin,

I bought a pair of wiper blades at Advanceautoparts here on LI for about $20. I don't recall what brand they were, but they came with plastic clips.

Same thing happened to me...just go to your local Pepboys and buy a set of Bosch wiper blades. They contain the insert to update the arm/blade connector to the latest design. Install the connector, then snap on the new blades. Good luck. John

Like you said just a Bosch replacement. Nice to know some parts of the beast aren't made of unobtainium. Never use the wipers so that had to be the first thing to break. Now to enjoy an early spring drive. Thanks again!
