    That was one smooth emergency landing and everyone walked away safe!

    You were correct, according to the other Airbus pilots interviewed, they practice it in the simulator.

    I was trying to watch it on CNN but passed out, strange thing was I awoke right when the plane landed. Very impressive I must say, I guess another day in LA. Now back to the slow, relentless coverage of the Texas Gulf Coast getting pounded into oblivion.

    Same type situation happened to me in April of this year on a Continental flight from HOU to OKC. Choppers hovering, fire equipment everywhere, the whole deal. I never felt in any danger, though.

    Once the plane stopped, I bet that pilot & co-pilot got offers from every passenger for a "cold one" whenever they wanted.
