The car will be a revelation compared to the Williams. Every driver would give his eye teeth for the opportunity.
There's a problem. If Russell makes it to the podium what does that say about Hamilton's legacy? IMO, Hamilton is the best driver of our era. But if ANYONE can drive that same car and win, what does it say?
It won’t make any difference to Hamilton’s legacy. Zero. None. What it will do is boost Russell’s reputation and accelerate him into a top car.
Legacy, I do not know, but that may have a serious downward impact on his rumored $54M annual contract demand.
This is why I am certain the Mercedes board is not fully happy with the situation. How they will justify to pay huge amounts of Money for Hamilton if a Rookie beats Bottas fair and square?
It's the same car on the same track so I get the claims some would make, but there's more to being an F1 driver than race day. You have to develop the car over time and make the right setup on race day. I wonder if Russell will be given the same setup Lewis had last race or will go with his own preference. Lewis would counter he developed the car and made the right setup.
Size 11 ! wearing 10's is gonna squeeze that big toe ..cant just cut the racing boot so it can sort of poke out a lil bit?
Bottas isn't quite up to it, but is it because: - Bottas isn't as good - Bottas' car isn't as good - or something else?
Russel fastest in FP1... Hamilton fans be like Lewis is the GOAT others be like...we been telling you it’s the car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s only FP1 so who knows. It looked like Bottas was over driving though. He will improve. Let’s see how this all shakes out on Saturday and Sunday!
I'd like to see Russell kick posteriour both in quali and in the race. That will prove just how good Lewis is.
I think if Russell wins the race, it says more about wingman Bottas than it does Hamilton's legacy. There can only be one winner. And no, Hamilton isn't the best driver of our era...he's the luckiest driver of our era.
Era's not over, hard to say with so much rising young talent, but if you want to narrow it down to someone closer from Hamilton's generation, I've always ranked Alonso above Hamilton; personality baggage aside, Alonso has accomplished so much more in adversity and fiercer competition than Hamilton ever has or will.
