I currenlty have black brakes and would like to either paint them red or yellow. I will be installing Vellano VHS wheels 19 and 20's Any thoughts and photo's would be appreciated. I am feeling the yellow (the color will match the shields)
go red, match the car, would look way better imo, yellow be abit outta place...now black car and yellow calipers, thats another story...
so far I would disagree. The red on a red car looks like the body reflection. On my yellow porsche I went with red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a Rosso Scuderia CS and I had my calipers spec'd to Rosso Scuderia from the factory as I wanted red calipers. I didn't think yellow calipers on red car would loog as good, but this past weekend in Crystal Cove there was a Rosso Corsa CS with yellow caliper and I thought it looked great as well, since it is very close to the fender shield the yellow looks very nice. Here is the link, there isn't a good picture of it, but just past the Ford GT there is a pic of 2 CS side by side, 1 with stripe, you can kind of see the yellow caliper coming thru. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102036 Maybe on of the fine photographers have a better pic showing the brakes better.
I bought my CS used. I would never have thought to choose yellow, but now that I have them, I like them. When decorating, things go in threes, like three potted plants, etc. Yellow calipers, yellow wheel hubs and yellow shields form a set of 3 yellows. Just my $.02 Gary The CS as CC referenced in the above post is my car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yellow calipers on a red CS is more appealing than red on red. Thats too much red. The pic CDM just posted is what you want. Looks great.
Yellow is the only way to go... Ronald McDonald or not, yellow calipers on a red Ferrari is simply STUNNING!
What colour blue is the car in th esecond picture , I had a Porsche that was like that colour , it was mexico blue . What does Ferrari call it ? Thanks
The yellow brakes are on all CS models. They look sweet. Does anyone have pic's of standard brakes in yellow on Ferrari???
I found a few. I'm sure you'll recognize the background in the pics...Andy Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Andy, What are your thoughts, I am feeling yellow. My car is scheduled to go to "C" on Tuesday. While they have the car for the exhaust they will do the wheels.
The blue CS is based on an old Porsche color, from the sixties (I think). The owner did not have a color chart so he hand mixed over and over until he thought he had the right "look". So it is not a Ferrari color. He paid the approximate $6,000 "paint to sample" price for the color. The car is based in Orange Co, CA and can be seen, but rarely, at the Crystal Cove Saturday car meeting. Usually in the parking lot, not in the show. It is the most beautiful and stunning CS I've ever seen. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am thinking yellow. I think red calipers would be too much red. I bought some red caliper paint (because Pep boys did not have yellow) but have not put it on becasue I think it is too much red. Plus this way you can keep a slight memory of the yellow Porsche! I was surprised to see so many opinions of red. I don't think you will have to worry about anyone calling your new 360 a Ronald McDonald car. Go with yellow, nice contrast. Any chance of bringing the new car to the Derby-Q on May 6 in Palm Beach Gardens??? BT
I hope so, BUT we might have to make it a family day and take the wife's x5 BT, if you are planning on painting your brakes, I would recommend taking them to a professional and let them powder coat the brakes and then add the Ferrari logo. I am having Champion Motorsports due the brakes. They have a body shop that they work with.
Yellow brakes are an option on the CS, as are red. They are not standard. I say go w/ the yellow brakes on your car......isn't that why you were so intent on shields???? Of course, you could do one side of the car yellow, and the other side red............
