Hey all, I am wondering if this little item is supposed to be there on the servo brake boost line from the airbox. The hoses are different on either side of this thing, and the hose from this thing to the airbox looks like a coolant line This is for my 87 328 Regards Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe it is a check valve used to maintain vacuum in the Vacume servo. But it usually comes off the plenum, at least in the 308. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't see that part on my 84 308. Based on the location, I think it is a one way valve so the vacuum assist to the brake booster is retained in the booster and does not leak back to the air box. Can't tell you if it is OEM or not (?)
My apologies, I did mean the plenum airbox, not the one holding the air filter Because of the different types of hoses, I don't know if it is oem either. If it was a one way check valve, you would think that it would be much closer to to booster, instead of keeping a whole hose from back to front pressured. Regards
The cloth braided hose is original one that runs to the front of the car. The other hose is an Aeropuip 2556 series used for multiple applications on multiple models.
All power brake booster vacuum hose should have that check valve to keep vacuum pressure in the servo all the time.
