Not a dumb question at all. The fender have to be welded in place after they are glued on. In general you want to spray the panels on the car at the same time to avoid color differences.
Wow! What a thread. It says a lot that you are posting up these progress pictures for the entire community to see. Lots of confidence in what you're doing. Looks excellent.
More body gap work and sanding. Its important to let the primer breath for a few weeks before stages. We bake the car and leave it outside in the sun to help the curing process. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Final coat of primer before paint. We bake the primer in the spray booth and push the car outside into the sun daily to help the curing process. And this is all before the engine out? beautiful work! Are the new fenders OEM? I'm surprised they were available. Love the look!
Beautiful work! Its refreshing seeing a vendor post such intimate details of their trade and it says a lot about Bradan. One of the reasons why my ‘87 TR is with Dan right now for its major service. I paint small stuff myself at home in a small booth and its easy to see that these guys take a lot of pride in what they do. Clearly they are working hard to utilize the latest technology and innovations in their field. Bravo. Would love to see pics like this of my major! Haha
Yes engine after paint and the sister car is having the engine done followed by paint. Yes the owner has spent years collecting new original parts to eventually overhaul them to new condition.

Nice work as always. Dan what color primer do you usually use when you are painting a car red? Does the primer affect the color that much? I have heard that spraying a bright white primer on before the color coat can make the color pop more, especially with reds and yellows.
Dan, Looked at all the labor involved with stripping the paint off the car. Have you ever looked at using dry ice blasting to remove the paint? A system may pay for itself in no time.
