Brad Pitt has played against type before.
But now the heart-throb is after his biggest acting challenge yet.
The 42-year-old hunk is desperate for a gay role, to cash in on the success of gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain.
A source told The Sun: "Brad has asked his people to find him a script to play a gay man.
"He wants it to be a story that appeals to both men and women and he wants it to be the edgiest work he's done.
"He's seen the critical acclaim that Brokeback Mountain has won and he wants a piece of it."

So, now he "wants a piece of it?"

Ugh. It's just sad that playing an addicted, handicapped or homosexual role is the path to actor 'street cred' nowadays. Why not play a gay, heroin-shooting gigolo with a prosthetic leg? SAG awards, here he comes!

I think it would hit too close to home though, given 2/3 of people already think he's in the closet.

Tom should do a movie where he gets depression due to a chemical imbalance and takes medicine and feels better. Now that would be a stretch!

Then he would turn around and run a motorcycle into his psychiatrist's car, head-on, then fly through the air sideways shooting two pistols, while wearing a long jacket and birds fly up in the background.

 

That wasn't gay gay, only homoerotic. Sorta gay. He wants all-the-way, International Male-wearing, hands in the air, Priscilla Queen of the Desert Wong-foo shouting "fabulous" gay.

Why didn't he just play Achilles as a bisexual in Troy, as per the mythology, if he wanted to play gay?
