Boxer brake problems. With the motor not running the brake pedal is very firm with the correct amount of brake pedal travel. When the motor is running the brake pedal is not firm with more pedal travel and when holding the pedal it slowly moves towards the floor. I disconnected the vacuum line from the vacuum on the 1-6 intake cam and the motor running the brake comes up very firm. There has been no brake fluid loss. The master and booster were rebuilt a few years ago and the braking has steadily gotten worse.

If the pedal slowly moves to the floor and there is no fluid loss then the MC inner seals are failing. It is common if the car has sat for a while as they retract. Try pressure purging the fluid (as in pumping the pedal old fashion style), sometimes the exercise brings them back, sometimes not.
