I'm off on a Euro trip through Germany, Austria and Italy in a couple of weeks in my 458. I'm not really one for listening to music while I'm driving but we have a couple of days where it's just a 5-7 hour slog on the autobahns so feel like I do need to sort something out.

I know a lot of guys use the Bovee Tune2air but I was wondering whether a pair of AirPods Pro might be a better bet. Logic being I'm not sure how well I'd hear streamed music over the engine/exhaust and the sound cancellation of the pods might reduce tiredness/stress. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Doesn’t sound like a good plan to me. Earphones while driving seems pretty dangerous to me (and I’m the guy who doesn’t wear a seat belt). There are sounds you WANT to hear…. I also don’t listen to the radio in my cars either but for this trip, I’d just turn the radio on high enough that it’s just a background noise so the trip isn’t so monotone with just the engine and road noise at a constant.

Pretty sure driving with headphones/earphones is illegal in lots of Europe

I didn't know that. Do you know which countries?

As an aside, I bought the Bovee although I've not had a chance to set it up just yet. I also have some custom-fit ear plugs which I used to use in one of my Lotus - I may well take them too as they were fantastic at reducing the sound to manageable levels whilst still being able to hear what was going on around

In Germany, the use of headphones or earphones is illegal while driving. Not sure about the other countries but I believe it is illegal in most European countries.

    Turn up the radio.

Driving with ear pods is very disorienting for most people. You would be amazed at how much you rely on the sense of sound without realizing it.

Noise cancellation earbuds if adjustable may work like the SonyWF1000XM5
They are adjustable via it’s app so you can still hear, listen to music but still get rid of the droning
Expensive and some have difficulty with ear fit.
The Bovee is cheap but depending on the audio system the car has the listening experience may not be great

I have a pair of Bose Frames that I enjoy using when I want to listen to music with the top down. Don’t know if they still sell them. I looked on the Bose web site and did not see them. They last about 3 hours before the power dies, so then I just switch them out to regular sunglasses.
